Holy flark!  What an amazing issue this was.  DnA have always been able to put together special stories in the cosmic side of Marvel, and this series continues that great tradition.  This issue has the hallmarks of all great DnA issues: giant science mixed with great action and hilarious banter.  Who knew Ronan the Accuser could be funny?  One of the more fun aspects of this issue is that the team proves that its more than just pure brawn.  The heroes use their brains to conquer the issue’s threat, and watching them interact proves that this is a team that can work well together and accomplish more than people think.  The story twists and turns amid all the wacky science, and even though it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, it’s still very satisfying.  The story ends on a nice cliffhanger, and I’m excited for the next part of the story.  Tan Eng Huat is not my favorite artist, but his art does a nice job conveying the movement and action.  I’m not a huge fan of his figures or his faces, but the storytelling was solid and I was never lost.

The backup continues to be solid as well, and I found myself laughing out loud several times.  Rocket Racoon is a great character, and his relationship with Groot is one of the best things to come out of Guardians of the Galaxy.  This story is fantastic fun, and I can’t wait for the next entry.  Timothy Green continues to draw the heck out of the book, and this issue showcases his art quite nicely.  He is a perfect fit of the tone of the book.

Overall, this issue is what makes comics great: big action, complex science, and humor interspersed with great character moments.  This has serious POW potential.

Story: 5 - Excellent
