Wow what more can i say other then Lemire has done it again. His ability to write realistic characters, settings and dialogue between them is phenomenal. This is the first time i have ever read an Animal Man comic and although there is mention about him being a super hero from the past but hasnt really been doing much as a super hero in recent years provides a great jumping on point. Not knowing anything about the character but explaining where he gets his power source enough to let you enjoy the story. It was paced out well from first introducing us to his family life, to seeing him in action using his powers and then leading us into an amazingly freaky drawn dream sequence which is basicly starting up the story arc. This is truly what Lemire is also great at doing with the cliffhangers he provides in Sweet Tooth as well. This issue was simple and not to convoluted which just left me wanting more. The only complaint i would have about it so far is the art at only some points is really shitty but not to the point that it ruins the entire book. So looking forward to the next one POTW!!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. By the way since it hasnt been fixed yet, i gave the art a 4 on this and story a 5

  2. I also mentioned this in the main page comments in case you missed it figured id mention it here as well

Hey guys not to brag or nothing since im sure half of you dont give a shit anyways but i wanted to share an awesome moment that happened today to me with this comic.

I went to pick up my order of books at my Local comic shop after work today and was pleasantly surprised to recieve from them this issue signed from Jeff Lemire himself since he literally lives a few minutes away from the shop in Toronto. Apparently he came in that morning and signed a bunch of issues for fans of his that happened to pick up the book. This to me is a truly great and thoughtful thing to do on his part to show support to his fans and to the store itself and made my experiance picking up this comic that much better. On top of that it was a great read and my POTW, it doesnt get much better then that.
