I really miss American Vampire, you guys. Like staying awake at night screaming at the ceiling miss it. So I really savor these little tidbits they throw our way, and this one did not disappoint. With what can only be describes as a buffet of some of the best talent working in comics, this delightful little one shot really gets me psyched for this series to come back. All the stories had their own flair and style, I was particularly fond of the Becky Cloonan and Moon/Ba stories. The one minor Gripe I had was some of the art on the Gail Simone story (also incredible) had some awkward panels as far as acting and facial expressions go. Scott Snyder has a problem now though. He’s revealed to everyone that all of his friends are really really good at writing his stories. I kid, of course, I want Snyder to write Am Vamp forever, but for real I would totally read a spin-off series written by anyone in this book.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. It would be awesome for some spinoffs. The AV world is so big and the possibilities are endless that we can only hope for more spinoff mini series to come out, possibly from other writers. This was great and I was happy to see Snyder and Albuquerque tease us with some 1967 Skinner Sweet in a Mustang (and the Easy Rider guys- dope).
