The first arc of what is a new ongoing series concluded with this issue. In Kelly Yate’s first creator own work, we have a somewhat interesting story, but nothing special. Over the last several months I have watched the iFanbase quickly lose interest in this title. In my quest to seek out new titles I remained steadfast.

I found the plot to be Star Wars-esque and overly convoluted to try and make up for the simplicity. Our female protagonist meets up with not just one male counterpart, but TWO! There is some dickhead who tries to take over the galaxy. I say dickhead because; from the very beginning it was obvious what he was going to do. This clown goes down faster than an Iraqi fighter plane.

There is a nice little fight scene with Amber and the alien that killed her father, but at the same time we miss a fight scene with one of her guy friends and a chase scene with the other. After Amber defeats her father’s murderer, the trio regroups and they each explain what happened.  We never see what actually happened between her two friends, we just get the recap, wtf?

I say Star Wars-esque, Amber is similar to Luke Skywalker, trust me.

Now how about some good things, I didn’t buy and read four issues just to trash Kelly Yates, hell no! There were futuristic weapons that were pretty cool, and big fucking alien space creatures that could inject there toxic venom into a planet’s crust and make the whole place uninhabitable within the hour!! Loads of aliens, space ships, and an intergalactic police force, not too shabby.

Overall it’s a cool little story and am curious what the future lies for Amber Atoms. Personally, I would like to see some on planet exploration, maybe Amber Atoms meets the mole people, I don’t know, I just read them I don’t write them.

Art was ok, I think it was the colors that messed things up. There seemed to be too many shadows on everyone.
