Was there a particular reason that there was nothing even remotely close to a consistent artist on this story?

 I mean was it just to prove how incredibly awesome Joe Kelly is that his books don't have to have a steady look to set a tone?

I mean, I normally don't care, but this was just ridiculous. And the fact that this issue had 2 different artist really just irritated me to no end.

 Both of them were fine, I especially liked Grifter Spidey, but I plan on rereading this story from beginning to end again and, judging by how the switch in artists in just this issue was distracting, I know it'll distract from my enjoyment of the story in subsequent readings.

That being said, this was a really good issue. Joe Kelly absolutely gets Peter.

He gets what makes him interesting and fun, and really just what makes people root for him.

Little things like Pete not giving up, regardless of how hurt he is or how obviously he's screwed.

I loved the scene where Pete was trying to convince Harry to go for the neck to pop Norman's head off. And it wasn't even just that. There was the creepiness that Norman radiated, especially in the last scene.

And, because I'm a huge continuity nerd, I have to justify the fact that Norman was saying he wanted another son, because in Sins Past, he probably didn't count the other kid, because he was genetically flawed and died.

Of course, it'd be really cool if OMD retconned that to the original JMS story where the real father is Peter, but we've still got Quesada as EiC so I doubt that'll fly, but one can hope.

This was a case of great writer trumps bad or inconsistent art.
