It's a stretch to recouch the entire Ultimateverse by having all the origin stories coincide non-coincidentally. I simply can't see where this is going, or if it will be worth the reconfiguration of everything when it gets there. For the issue, Bendis has recast some select scenes of the first "X-Men" movie to bring Magneto and Xavier together, and then, move them to the Savage Land.
Let me take a moment to say, that if the Ultimateverse was designed to slough away extra baggage from continuity, this mini proves how it's failed in that attempt.
The Guice artwork was solid, if unspectacular. Issue 2 , with da Captain, was far superior.

Good critique. Yeah, I get the feeling this entire series is just prep work for Ultimatum. Question: Why don't they just condense this information into the first issue of Ultimatum or a one-shot? Answer: Marvel wouldn't be able to rape our wallets as much that way, even though it makes more sense.
