I know that some of you out there think that Grant Morrison is fucknuts crazy (which he most likely is) or weird, but I have to say that if I had to pick a winner so far in this horse race between Marvel and DC, I go with Final Crisis all the way. With Marvel, I'm just waiting for the last issue, to see if I'm surprised by its end. BTW, I am not a DC Drone; I was on the X-men's jock way before any DC characters.
With Final Crisis, I feel like I will actually be stunned by how this story develops, as well as how it concludes. Again, I'm kinda lost on some of what's going on (I'm sorry, but I don't know who the fuck the bald guy playing the role of Darkseid is) but I love the writing, and there are some fantastic moments. I always love when heroes are desperate and a ragtag bunch has to group together for a stand against impossible odds. Here are my favorite moments, just off the top of my head:
1. The Ray doing his part for the resistance
2. Green Arrow and Black Canary share a moment before parting
3. The two Flashes hug it out.
4. THE Flash comes home to his wife in time to save her from being taken by the anti-life equation.
5. The new Mister Miracle gets a welcoming bullet during his debut.
I love that I don't know how this event will end. This cannot end well for the forces of good, and there will not be any sunshine, rainbows or puppies to be had. I want an unpredictable end, to Final Crisis, and I feel as if I'll recieve it in three issues.
Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 3 - Good
