I agree with your talk about the pacing. Considering I don't read the Firestorm comics, the ending as lost on me, it was sad, but it seemed like the torture was too long and just so oddly paced at the end. This also being the first real introduction to the Indigo tribe I was hoping for more development, rather than it seeming like we are exactly where the issue started, with more people rising from the dead. Still, I really enjoyed the issue. i don't see how the DC universe is going to recover from this, there's a lot of dying going on, with Aqualad, Hawkman, Hawkgirl and now half of Firestorm. I'd like to know where they are going with this.

I think this issue moved the story forward the most though. Like now there is a tentative plan to fight back, rather than everyone just struggling to survive. It was nice that everyone got a sit rep. I like how the black lantern zombies just keep coming. Ray's and also Barry's scientific approach to trying to figure out the black lanterns was pretty spot on. The barry-hal dynamic is, however, getting a bit strained. Great review bro!

I look at the big picture with this event and this issue works perfectly with how Johns is advancing his story. Overall, this issue is another example of excellent storytelling to what looks to me like a no brainer 5 start event. This chapter seems just as strong as the first two chapters. I think your review misses the point that when all three books are read as a whole thus far we have outstanding 1st act to an epic event.
