New Avengers #47

I have to admit, even as an open and vocal hater of Gaydos' art work, his portions of this book are some of the better looking stuff I've seen from him.  Sure, everybody still looks like they're dressed in burlap sacks and would be at home collecting cans on the side of the road, but the artwork is not as ugly as I'm used to expecting.  I almost have to believe it's the inker, based on history.  Tan's artwork is ok, but nothing really amazing.  As for the story... I think I am completely burned out on Bendis speak.  I'm not even sure I can take much more of it and, in that, I found a lot of this boring.  I couldn't find a reason to care about the flashback, and the conclusion left us exactly where we were at the end of SI #8.  I'll admit that the first scene in the book was more than a little bit charming, but the rest was met with a resounding "meh".  I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, since its been months since New or Mighty Avengers have given us anything of value.
