This was a fantastic issue that truly highlighted both Dysart's writng abilities, as well as Ponticelli's art. From theĀ get-go the reader is shown in this issue, through the eyes of Jack Lee Howl, how beautiful this country can really be and why it is worth protecting. The story was an average run of the mill rescue mission, but when the Soldier is met with failure we see for the first time the exposure of who this man truly is. The last 4 pages of the story are written and drawn exceptionally and give me high hopes for the future of this series.
If you are able to stomach the historical violence that is showcased inĀ comics such as Northlanders, or Garth Ennis' war stories than I would reccomend this. However; if you are unable to experience media like this than I would steer clear.
Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
