This book is in the midst of a paradigm shift.

10 issues ago this book started as  standard story of a Novice hero being guided by mysterious mentor.

Now it's knee deep in tragedy territory.

This issue pretty much confirms what we all likely suspected from the start. That Vampire guy is a D-bag.

It also sets up what is likely the next major arc: Effed up family stuff to come.
