The great thing about having a superhero who doesn’t depend on superpowers to be interesting is that he’s A LOT easier to drop into alternate timelines and historical contexts and not lose a step. That was the case with this issue, which for my money was the strongest of the series. Its classic Punisher out to avenge his slain family, except this time he’s using Samurai weapons.

I loved how they stylized the Punisher logo down into simple forms that look like an authentic samurai clan mark. The art is still firing on all cylinders. With only two issues left, i’m hoping this momentum keeps moving upwards.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Yea, the Punisher theme just meshes well with the Samurai concept, and Milligan does a good job with it.  I mean what Samurai isn’t out for revenge in one way or another?

  2. I agree, this was the best of the bunch so far. The art is great, and I really liked the story.
