  1. Sweet!!  Loving Immortal Iron Fist and am so happy that Swierczynski is keeping the book going strong.  Dropped Cable after the first arc, didn’t do it for me, but might pick it up soon.  Sounds like its going on an upswing.

  2. DS is becoming one of my favorite writers. I read the first couple of Iron Fist issues he did and they were great. Cable was so-so, wouldnt recommend it…..but his first issue of Punisher MAX was pretty good as well.

Hope he becomes an even bigger name in the future.

  3. Thanks to everybody involved for a really great interview.  I’m tempted to say I’m a Swierczy fan from way back, but I guess it’s only been about a year.  But I was really excited to find out such a highly-regarded up-and-coming crime writer was getting into comics, and as soon as I heard Ed Brubaker (or maybe Rucka?  maybe both?)  talking about him on Word Balloon I went out and read everything I could.  So I’ve been rooting for his comics career from the start, and I’m glad it’s working out so well.  "Iron Fist" has become one of my favorite titles (I’m probably in the minority, but I didn’t start following the series until I knew DS was taking over).  And after listening to this interview, I just went out today and bought the first issue of the Punisher arc (and I’ve never looked at a Punisher book before), which is fantastic.

And finally, re: Cable, it was cool hearing some of the inspirations for the story, and I wanted to mention that I just love the way DS writes the core Xmen characters who have appeared in the book, especially Cyclops and Beast, and would be all over a Swierczy X-book or mini.  (I think there was a Wolverine one-shot that I missed because I can’t keep all the Wolverine one-shots straight, sadly).

  4. More Talksplode! YEEeeeeeeeessssssssssssssss!!!

Sorry, it’s just..you know…guys…these are incredible. Thanks so much for all the hardwork and putting these together.

  5. Great interview guys. I found out about Swierczynski through his crime fiction, "The Wheelman" first, then "The Blonde" & his latest "Severance Package". If you haven’t read any of Swierczynski’s prose work you out to give’em a look. They are blistering (& bloody) reads. Like any great graphic novel you can easily get through one a night they move so fast. Loads of twists, too. He’s the real thing.

    Great interview, guys.

Glad to see my native (and current) city of Philadelphia getting some love.
