  2. I predict that trades will slowly die (I’ve sold all mine except for 10 classics, Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns etc). You can keep all your digital issues on your IPad via Cloud Reader or Comic Flow or even buy them through Comixology and then reread whichever part of the story you want, including the most recent arc, at your own leisure. It’s not like floppy single issues that as soon as you read, you discard and then double dip to ‘own’ the story. I believe that publishers will eventually have to switch to more prestige formats (omnibus’/absolute) as a way to entice people to keep buying paper collections.
Also, whose idea at DC was it to slow the release of trades? Ridiculous

  3. Another great episode gents.

I believe Conor mentioned in passing that he is still reading Prophet in trades. Ifanboy was enthusiastic about Prophet when it launched and there were some very favourable comments made on the podcast. I would like to know what Conor thinks about Prophet now. I believe he mentioned reading ,or about to read, the fourth trade.

The series is now complete and I think it is great. Graham’s vision for Prophet is unique and very different from a lot of the sci fi fare from Image. I find that too many of the Image sci fi books are formulaic post-apocalyptic dystopias which all blend together into bland sameness to me. Brandon Graham had a vision for Prophet and wasn’t afraid of experimentation and surrealism.

I am a Graham fanboy and I have been rereading his previous magnum opus, King City, recently. I am finding that there are many layers and levels to the book that make a reread very rewarding.

  4. King City is great.

Prophet isn’t quite done, there is a mini coming that finishes it off, called Prophet:Earth War. This mini has unfortunately been delayed often, maybe one day it will come out. I’m looking forward to Island as well but I have basically zero hope that it will come out on any sort of regular basis. I’m really starting to think that trade waiting is the only way to follow Graham.

    • I went searching for Prophet: Earth War and the first issue was slated for release on February 18th. That deadline was not hit. We can only wait patiently to see when it will appear.

In the interview that Graham gave following the last Image Expo, he indicated that there was another volume of Multiple Warheads in the pipeline, as well. Again, it remains to be seen when it will actually be released. Island may fall into the same category. I think you have a point that trade waiting is the only way to go for Brandon Graham’s new material.

  5. I loved, and still love the Daredevil movie. No shame.
