  1. Josh, did I understand correctly that you are unfamiliar with Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli? Just in case that wasn’t just a bit you were doing: please inquire of those individuals whose opinions you trust in such matters, whether or not you should check out some Ghibli. And by some, I mean all.

Paul, what WAS the other one? What a cliffhanger.

      Her.

    • I’m familiar with it, but it never did much for me.

Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend the Ghibli catalog to Josh. But as it turns out, I’ll be guesting on the Filmographies podcast to talk about Miyazaki’s career from the beginning. I’ll give it a shout on the show when it hits.

    • Cool. I’ll look forward to that Filmographies podcast. The first couple of his films I saw, Spirited Away and Princess Mononke, I didn’t totally connect with at first. Nausicaa and Totoro were the ones that helped me wrap my brain around how incredible the animation and storytelling are in his films.

  2. THIS WAS A HUGE fuckin week for me. I had 20 total comics to read. It killed me. There were lot of great book. My pick goes to DEADLY CLASS #2. All the RIck Remender comics I read before never caught me at all, but Deadly Class is great.

  3. Anyone read the James Robinson / Leonard Kirk debut on FF? While I enjoyed it, it’s still too early to have an opinion on the story but Leonard Kirk has really stepped up in the past year. “Hunger” looked great, but this is even better. His art in this issue reminded me a lot of Stuart Immonen with just a dash of what I still enjoy about Bryan Hitch…

  4. Wow, that’s a log of DC on the show, compared to the last six months or so.

I haven’t listened yet, but now I’m intrigued to see what’s up.
