iFanboy #273 – Jordie Bellaire and Matthew Wilson on Comic Book Coloring at New York Comic Con 2012

Show Notes

Modern comics owe a lot to the colorists. While pencilers get the bulk of the art adoration, the color artists are the ones who really bring it all together, and do so with much less fanfare.

We caught up with two of the best colorists out there, Jordie Bellaire and Matthew Wilson, and talk about where they see color in comic books today, their work, and what they would tell prospective colorists looking to make a mark in comics.

Find out why digital coloring is the best it’s every been today, and the kinds of things colorists are thinking about when making pages shine.

  1. This was a terrific interview Josh. I agree that colorist are often overlooked for their art, but a great colorist can elevate the reading experience on any book!

Bellaire and Wilson are definitely my top two colorists in the comic biz!
