  1. @ Stewart~ In regards to your Vertigo Crime question, I have found several of them to be very entertaining and interesting (although I haven’t read all of them).  It just depends on if you like noir-ish comics in black and white.  I would say that my top5 would be:

    The Rat Catcher
    The Bronx Kill
    Fogtown
    The Executor
    Dark Entries

I know that there are several more coming out over the summer including 99 Days and Cowboys.  Check out DC’s website for deets on the books.  I would say that if any sound interesting to you, you should go for it.

  2. @Neb Thanks for the info.  It just struck me when I saw the ad that there had been zero buzz around the books and I wondered what the reason was.  I will look into them for sure.

And thanks to the iFanboy guys for reading and answering my question!

  3. ‘Take Me Home Tonight’ is one of the all-time most easily to get stuck in your head songs. Thanks guys.

PS – It seems Ron has been practicing saying ‘Spawn’.

  4. I caught the live stream Friday when I hopped on Facebook at work.  Damn you for distracting me from work.  Oh well.

Lifting the veil and having video to see the podcast being made was illuminating and made me appreciate your weekly efforts all the more.  From scripting to recording to editing, hats off to your efforts.

Uncanny X-Force 9 was my pick; I gave it 4 stars, pretty much on the strength on the scene between the war criminal and Wolverine.  The art and story set up (Magneto really needs someone to kill on his behalf… okay then) were weak, but I only had a few books.

I looked back over my previous picks and I’ve had the problem of light weeks and 4 star books before.  I can’t believe how often I’ve picked X-Factor for a slow Wednesday.  Peter David’s running a marathon, not a sprint, on that book.

  5. I feel the same way as Josh about back issues, I have about 15 long boxes and I really want to get rid of them because I know I won’t be reading them ever again and so they are just taking up space. If I want to re-read a story I read the trade. There easier to store and look a lot better on the shelf and it’s just more convenient reading a whole story in one book. I wan’t to get rid of these asap, ebay will take too long, and I’m not even interested in making any profit, but I don’t want to throw them out, thats just wrong lol. I’d rather give em to a store and let them have it and sell it, or give it to someone who’d enjoy it, just trashing em..no I could never!

  6. EDDIE MONEY! And thank you for answering my two questions, iFanboy.

  7. Aww you did a ustream? Well thanks for telling me!

*sniff* I’ll be in my room.

  8. Despite it being impromptu, I actually caught the last half of the live podcast for the first time ever!

I’m kinda glad I missed the issue reviews because A) it gave me something to listen to today, and B) I can skip over Irredeemable and avoid spoilers.

Although I did feel weird when Ron started discussing his plans for the rest of the day with his sister after the show. Felt like I was intruding.

  9. @RapidEyeMovement  i just started masterbating at that point

  10. aw, man, i just hear the bit at the end. now i’m ashamed

  11. *heard

  12. I get my comics on Friday mail ordered so I don’t listen to the show till I’ve read all my books, which is normally the next week.  I always stop in though and read the show notes when the episode is posted.

Having just read the show notes, not having pressed play or anything, I now have had Eddie Money stuck in my head all morning.  I didn’t even hear the damn song!  WHYYYYEEE!?!?!

  13. Excellent episode.  I love it when you three are in the same room.

I would’ve loved to have seen the ustream.  I guess I’ll have to keep a closer eye on the twitter feed.

  14. I blame all of you for killing Proof just like you killed Unknown Soldier. Which of my favorite comics will go down next? Enter sad face here.

It is not the song, but that picture of Eddie Money, which will haunt me. “Grow and feather your hair,” it whispers. “Buy an orange blazer.”

  15. @HailScott  I’m sorry. The first trade of Proof just didn’t hook me in. Don’t kill me now.

  16. It was the first time I’d had an opportunity to watch a live podcast so I was really excited and had to sign up to Ustream straight away – unfortunately it was unwatchable, I’d get 5 words then the feed would pause for 30 seconds…I don’t know if this is because I’m in the UK or something to do with my set up or speed (which is usually fine) or what. I’ll look forward for the chance to try it again some day!

  17.  Hearing your response to Nathan and Ben’s question back to back(brilliant), I think your responces help underscore the current problem with comics. They are reduced down to expensive trash (hate to use that term to explain it though). They have some value to we fans, but to those on the fringe it seems to be the deciding factor. Even before this really tough economy, it hard to convince some one to try out a bunch of short reads for $3+ a pop and the pay may be a rehash of a weekly sitcom.
Although you guys are right when it comes to what you read and the fans on the site. The site shines light to things which may get passed by in the comic shop. I learned about Age of Bronze through this site, and Sam Costello’s articles highlight some intriguing reads.

  18. Hm, I cannot seem to be able to play any of the audio podcasts on the site. Does any1 have an idea what the problem could be?

  19. hey guys this was fun. Got to watch some of the stream last week. Its really fun to see how you record the show when you’re all together and i think it was fun that you bring books and show each other. Thanks for reading my review. I didn’t realize i’d ruffle chat room feathers with my Deadpool assertion.

*sorry for double posting this in the wrong thread*
