New Comics for 07/15/09 are no hero. They're ordinary.

Get to pulling this Wednesday's books, and then let us know what you're looking forward to most, what you're dropping, what others should be buying and anything you're thinking. Be heard, because we need you, iFanbase!
What are the iFanboys buying? Check it out here - Conor, Ron, Josh and Gordon the Intern.
And what about the rest of the staff? What are they buying? Dave, Jim, Paul, Mike, and Sonia.
I guess this week's all about Blackest Night, right? I mean, is there anything else even hitting the racks? No, seriously, I can't tell, some cat came over and vomited blood on my face and I can't see anything...
This week Josh has the Pick of the Week!
Bonus Question: If you had to be locked in a room with a rabid raccoon, a Dementor from 'Harry Potter' or BOB from 'Twin Peaks' which would you choose? If you had to choose one.

Looking forward to Blackest Night, Amazing Spider-Man, Tales of the Corps, and Lockjaw. I've got a lot of books that I'm going to give one more try before I drop them this week: Action Comics, Wednesday Comics, Streets of Gotham, and Titans.
BQ: Dementor, simply because Harry Potter bores me and it'd be nice to get some shut-eye.
Posted by Slockhart on 07/13/09 at 05:25 PMSmall to average week here for me with 10 books and a couple trades that I may simply wait to get from Amazon at a later date.
Most looking forward to the Blackest Night books by far. If I recall I only have 3 Marvel books this week, so it's going to be a DC heavy week, which is ok with me :) My only dilemma will be getting to the store early enough to snag a copy of Blackest Night! I can only imagine how fast it'll be flying off the racks! Just hoping my LCS orders up a poop ton of copies.
BQ: Dementor, because theoretically they won't bother us unless we're wanted by the Magic Police or whatever it's called in the HP world (If I remember correctly...). Rabies means an unpleasant amount of shots to the stomach, so I'd want to avoid that, and BOB...well, ugh, no. Just no.
Posted by Brian on 07/13/09 at 05:27 PMBQ Racoon, I'm pretty sure if i had on boots i could kick it and knock it out and maybe kill it.
BOB, not so much.
Dementors... boy I don't know.
Posted by RoiVampire on 07/13/09 at 05:28 PMDementor, because i'm assuming that if I can be locked in a room with one I am probably a witch and can therefore conjure a patronus.
Posted by Lauren on 07/13/09 at 05:37 PMBatman Streets Of Gotham #2
Blackest Night #1
Captain America #601
Creepy Comics #1
Incognito #5
Resurrection #2
Unknown #3 (OF 4)
BQ:
Bob in Owl form.
Posted by AmirCat on 07/13/09 at 05:39 PM
Blackest Night for sure, Captain America, and I've got to read the latest Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers. It's one of the few Marvel books not tying in to Dark Reign. But who knows, maybe Norman Osborn has a goldfish that will show up.
Posted by OwlyFan on 07/13/09 at 05:41 PMWhat's this "Blackist Night" everyone is talking about? I'm far more excited about Lockjaw & the Pet Avengers!!
But yeah, Blackest Night should be fun. Not sure about the Tales tie-in. And I also decided I'm not going to get the Dark Avengers books. Screw the crossover. My LCS is cool with reading in the store, I might just do that.
BQ: I'm far more likely to survive an attack from a Dementor than I am from a raccoon, go figure. I'll go with the flying guy.
Posted by drakedangerz on 07/13/09 at 05:44 PMIf you get Tales of the Corps with Blackest Night at my lcs, they throw in a black lantern ring. I was probably gonna get both anyway, but the promise of evil bling seals it.
BQ - A Dementor because I know how to expecto my patronus (which is a tree kangaroo).
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/13/09 at 05:47 PMBiggest week ever for me: Air, Buck Rogers, DMA, DADOES, Fables (no more crossover!!!!!!!), Incognito, GI Joe Origins, Killer, Olympus, RASL, Resurrection v. 2, Scalped, Sherlock Holmes, Unthinkable (if LCS gets it), Walking Dead, Wednesday Comics... and the Madame Xanadu trade from DCBS at month's end.
BQ: Bob. He can take me with him through the ceiling fan.
Posted by OddsBodkins on 07/13/09 at 05:47 PM5 books this week. Things in my stack will go from Dark to Blackest as DC conitues to overtake my pulls.
As a Muggle I couldn't see a Dementor, I'd just be sad. I'd be in a room and I'd be sad, sounds like work.
Where's my chocalate bar?
Posted by DarthDuck on 07/13/09 at 05:56 PMI'm not up on either mythology, so I'll say rabid racoon, because at least those can be killed.
Posted by OttoBott on 07/13/09 at 06:00 PMI AM Bob.
Literally. That's my name.
Oh, Gene "the Machine" Colan on Cap. POTW.
Looking forward to Agents of Atlas, the Avengers books, and who's-making-out-this-week? in X-Factor. Whether I pick up Wednesday Comics depends on my mood, and Streets of Gotham might be on the chopping block if this issue doesn't wow me.
BQ: Dementor. The raccoon and Bob would both kill me violently. The Dementor would steal my soul, but once they did it, I wouldn't care. Better eternal soul-voidness than a raccoon ripping your face open, right?
Posted by ohcaroline on 07/13/09 at 06:11 PMOuch!
This week is gonna hurt! Not only are a ton of books shipping, but that DAMN CAPTAIN BRITAIN OMNIBUS is gonna have to go home with me. Also the Annihilation Trade with the original number ones of the Marvel Cosmic crew looks good too! Damn. The wife is gonna kill me!
Posted by Unoob on 07/13/09 at 06:14 PMIncredible Hercules: Smash Titans HC! Collects the first 12 issues of Pak/Ven Lente's run! BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY!!!!
Also getting All Selects Comics, Blackest Night (woo!), Deadpool (woo woo!), and Wednesday Comics (shazam!!). Also there is Neil Gaiman's Batman story out in HC this week as well.
BQ: I'd take that thing from Twin Peaks. Because it's so confusing and ends on a cliffhanger it wouldnt bother me.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/13/09 at 06:35 PMAmazing Spider-Man, Beta Ray Bill, Creepy Comics, and Wednesday Comics for me. Someone will have to convince me why I should care about Captain America, which was supposed to be on hold until after the Reborn mini. Fuckin' Marvel...
Posted by BrianBaer on 07/13/09 at 06:36 PMGene Colan on Cap is going to be some good stuff.
BQ: It's a toss between Racoon and the Dementor. BOB would just fuck up my life.
Posted by MeanOldPig on 07/13/09 at 06:36 PMCan't wait for Blackest Night! Last weeks Black Hand origin was my POW. Also, ASM conclusion of American Son, Tales of the Corps, Dark Avengers, Streets of Gotham, and Mighty Avengers (last couple of issues impressed!)
BQ: can't say, never saw Harry Potter, but not a rabid racoon
Posted by crazychris on 07/13/09 at 06:44 PMBQ: A dementor because he'll just float about, and I have no hope so he can't feed on it.
Posted by chlop on 07/13/09 at 06:53 PMHoly cow what a week for me! I'm gonna get that Blackest Night, Tales of the Corps, Wednesday Comics, and Incognito. Aww, Incognito what a nice surprise.
BQ: I don't know who this BOB guy is, but if David Lynch is pulling his strings he's gotta fun to hang out with.
Posted by Simmons on 07/13/09 at 06:58 PMI am really looking forward to New Mutants, Streets of Gotham, and Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers.
BQ: Rabid raccoon, please.
Posted by sigridellis1 on 07/13/09 at 07:09 PMWow is it just me or is DC all over the place lately? Having said that It's the Gene Colan Captain America I'm looking forward to most THEN the slew of DC goodness.
BQ: Racoon because I've seen the movie 'Prophecy' and so I know how to deal with one!
Posted by Hawkboy on 07/13/09 at 07:43 PMFuck. Darwyn Cooke's PARKER book got knocked back a week it looks. I was getting really excited for that. Oh well, still got ASTERIOS POLYP to read...
Posted by HumphreyLee on 07/13/09 at 08:42 PMAmazing Spiderman #599 is looking quite good. When does #600 come out?
Yes!! Streets Of Gotham #2 is probably going to be the most fun book of the week. I'm so excited, I just can't hide it.
Incognito is still going strong.
...and I am pulling Wednesday Comics, Action Comics, and Dark Avengers even though not one of them is worth $3.99
I want a copy of Astro City: Dark Ages book one but I think I'm gonna order it from somewhere instead of buying it at the comic shop.
Posted by robbydzwonar on 07/13/09 at 08:51 PMIf I can get to the shop (still recovering from the great car purchase of 2009), it's all Blackest Night. Other stuff - Amazing Spider-Man, Action, Dark Avengers, Rasl, Creepy (because as a horror fan, I have to), Walking Dead, Scalped. I'm also going to give Last Resort from IDW a shot - it's got Palmiotti and Gray writing, it's about 70s exploitation and zombies, and I stand the chance of getting either a Connor or Cooke cover.
BQ: I'm going to have to go with the raccoon because I don't know what either of those other two are (although I do have vague BOB memories). I know, bad geek.
Posted by Dan on 07/13/09 at 09:25 PMPretty big week for me. 13 books, which is more than i have been getting. Really looking forward to Amazing Spider-Man and Sherlock Holmes. plus Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep? should be good. I'm dreading Dark Avengers.
BQ: BOB, because I have no idea who that is.
Posted by JohnVFerrigno on 07/13/09 at 09:38 PMScalped! Young Liars! Incognito! Top of the muffin TO YOU!!!
BQ:Dementor scares me the least so I guess I'll go with that.
Posted by Fugmo on 07/13/09 at 09:55 PMOnly getting WEDNESDAY COMICS this week. Thank God for a light week.
I'm going to wait for the hardcover on BLACKEST NIGHT. They scared me off with all those damn tie-ins.
STREETS OF GOTHAM and SHERLOCK HOLMES are dropped in favor of the trade.
Posted by Kory on 07/13/09 at 10:34 PMI have hope for Scalped.
B.Q.: Bob, of course!
Posted by rockingeek on 07/13/09 at 11:04 PMBQ: I already live with a Dementor, so I'm fine with that.
Most excited for Dark Avengers & Blackest Night.
Posted by Diabhol on 07/13/09 at 11:15 PM
@fugmo - muffin reference, hilarious. thank you.
Posted by DarthDuck on 07/13/09 at 11:19 PMI didnt pick up my comics last week and Wednesday Comics isnt on my pull list but Im going to pick up this weeks(and hopefully last weeks issue too).
Streets of Gotham #2 should be awesome, it seems to be under the radar compared to Batman & Robin and Detective but the last issue was fun
Incognito has become probably my favorite ongoing comic so Im eagerly awaiting the next issue
And I heard a couple people talking about this thing called Blackest Night? I have a feeling this thing might be big but thats just me

BQ: The raccoon. I've heard rabies is fun!
Posted by ActualButt on 07/13/09 at 11:58 PMSmall week for me with only Spider-Man and Captain America, so I might pick up either Creepy Comics or Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. This is nice, having small weeks, my wallet is thanking me.
BQ: I think I could take the raccoon. Unless it was a rabid Rocket Raccoon, then I'd be screwed.
Posted by DMaggot on 07/14/09 at 12:34 AMBQ: I never watched Twin Peaks, so that takes me down to 2. I think I'd go with racoon. After reading the Potter books, Dementor's are not something that I'd fuck with.
Posted by vadamowens on 07/14/09 at 12:41 AMSome good comics this week. I'm getting Blackest Night, Blackest Night TOTC, JSA Vs Kobra, Incognito, Wednesday Comics, Superman/Batman, Walking Dead, DMZ, Young Liars, Action Comics, Batman: Streets of Gotham and Agents of Atlas. Wow, I'm getting 12 comics this week.
BQ: Anything but BOB.
Posted by WinTheWonderboy on 07/14/09 at 12:46 AMYep, this week IS all about Blackest Night! Can't wait.
BQ -- I have zero knowledge of Twin Peaks or Harry Potter, so I'll take the racoon, please. With fries.
Posted by WadeWilson on 07/14/09 at 01:47 AMLooking forward to Blackest Night (of course), Dark Avengers, Batman/Superman, & Streets fo Gotham. It's a light week.
Posted by comixfan on 07/14/09 at 02:46 AMExciting week! Blackest Night, Blackest Night Tales of the Corps, Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, JSA vs Kobra, Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers, Wednesday Comics.
BQ: Raccoon. I think I'd have more of a chance of kicking the shit out of that.
Posted by Garrett on 07/14/09 at 02:58 AMLast week's quiet delivery was obviously a blip - back to bigness this week. Looking forward to Fables getting back to normal, Scalped as always and the pen ultimate issue of Archaia's The Killer. Dark Avengers gets the axe after Fraction's run. Getting Blackest Night but am determined to avoid the extra tie-ins. Great week!
BQ: Dementor - I still remember how Bob creeped me out as a lad back in high school, and as for the raccoon? Rabies, man, ugh!
Posted by odare77 on 07/14/09 at 05:28 AMBQ: It's got to be Bob. We could dance the night away and guess what the hell he's talking about
Posted by peterPanic on 07/14/09 at 05:36 AMAt last the Captain Britain omnibus. I ordered this last year, and you can bet the Captain Britain wont be available in Britain for another three months.
The rest of the week is largely based on if they've got it in my LCS.

Blackest Night Tales Of The Corps #1 (OF 3)
Captain Britain Moore Davis Omnibus Hc Dm Ed

What time does this list get posted on Mondays?
Posted by HailScott on 07/14/09 at 08:50 AMUsually around 5PM EST.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/14/09 at 09:16 AMArtesia Besieged is back! Yay!
BQ: Dementor, because I have no soul for it to steal. MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Posted by BC1 on 07/14/09 at 09:58 AMEither people are ashamed or that they're not the nerds they seem to be - no one said that they choose dementors because they're death eaters.
Posted by chlop on 07/14/09 at 10:15 AMHell yeah, Blackest Night is here! Definitely picking those two books up this week, and hopefully I'll get the Black Lantern ring as well. Also, I'm totally going to buy into the iFanboy hype and pick up Wednesday Comics from here on out.
B.Q.- BOB, even though he's super evil, he's still a David Lynch creation, and that makes him awesome. I just wish in that same room would be Frank Booth and the baby from Eraserhead.
Posted by comicBOOKchris on 07/14/09 at 10:39 AMBTW, nice Foo Fighters reference in the title. Always thought that song worked well as a theme for powerless/tech-based superheroes (Batman, Iron Man, etc).
Posted by Diabhol on 07/14/09 at 11:11 AM
I'm beyond excited about Blackest Night! But I'm also looking forward to Tales of the Corps so we can finally see the Indigo Tribe.
BQ: All you need is a good patronus charm and some chocolate to take down a Dementor, so that's my choice.
Posted by WonderAli on 07/14/09 at 11:48 AMonly 5 books this week - YAY! Looking forward to Blackest Night the most. Loving that story.
BQ: Who's Bob?? I'll take the Dementor.
Posted by Dez on 07/14/09 at 03:04 PMNot that intresting of a week for me. Only one title i see for myself. And the Clone Wars for my son. Ill take what I can get though. Have fun reading everybody!

Posted by gideon on 07/15/09 at 06:02 PMMay be becuase I start to wait for trades instead of monthlies, so I only have 3 books to pick.
Blackest Night, Tales of the Corps, and Mighty Avengers.
I got the black ring from my comic book store too. Too bad is not shiny. =(
BQ: I'll pick the racoon. I have no idea who are the other two and rabies is curable. Right?
Posted by excalipoor on 07/15/09 at 07:10 PM

Monster week for me, with 23 books. I won't go through them all, but I'm most excited for BLACKEST NIGHT, JSA VS. KOBRA, WEDNESDAY COMICS, FRANKLIN RICHARDS, and THE INCREDIBLES.
I'm glad to see that you're continuing to read JSA VS. KOBRA, Conor. If you haven't started reading it, I highly recommend you do.There's so much great talent on that book who have such a passion for the characters that I have full confidence this will be one of the best minis of the year when all is said and done. I urge you to check it out if you're a fan of good comics.
Also, great to see two all-ages books this week in THE INCREDIBLES and FRANKLIN RICHARDS. The former has been one of the best new books of the year, and the latter always impresses with it's awesomeness. I urge you to check these out, especially if you have or know any children.
BQ: Rabid Raccooon for sure. I don't wanna mess with a Dementor or god forbid BOB.
