So I put this on my pull list, and then read the preview to discover that the writing is shoddy, at best.
hmm I did the same thing. I pulled it, looked at the preview, then decided 3.99 was too much for what seemed like a "Waaa-Fest" for Nightcrawler. Besides, he’ll be back if the writers ever want him to be. Skip
They’re writing out our Kurt? Damn, he’s one of my favourites.
Yeah, I’m not sure why they would have him leave. His powers are only somewhat redundant, but so what! X-23 and Wolverine, Emma and Jean, etc. Might have same powers, but each bring something to the team. Not to mention Kurt has crazy acrobatic skills. I don’t like it. Tempted to pick this up just to see how they do it, but I don’t think so
As a friend of mine (who is a HUGE Nightcrawler fan) pointed out: Since when did redundant powers keep you out of the X-Men? Heck, Storm led the X-Men WITHOUT powers. Pixie’s a better teleporter? Yay! Can she fight with a sword, does she have years of experience both as a leader and as a superhero, and does she have the same kind of spiritual grounding of Nightcrawler? So the premise seems shaky here.

They’re taking Nightcrawler off the X-Men? Man, thank god I dropped Uncanny. Kurt was one of the few reasons I was reading it in the first place.
I’ll be picking this up. I guess.

@J4K3: How is that sad? What’s wrong with reading a book that have characters you like in it? One of the main reasons I picked up Uncanny a few issues back was because I liked the team they had, among them being Nightcrawler.
And FYI, I didn’t drop Uncanny X-Men because one of the characters I like is leaving, I dropped it because the story was boring as hell. So please have a little more info before you go calling someone "sad".

Guys, I’m assuming Nightcrawler is leaving b/c they are setting up plans for him elsewhere. Or maybe I just want to daydream about a reunion of the original Excalibur team.
Also, I havent’ read the preview but Asmus wrote a really nice Kurt story in the ‘Manifest Destiny’ anthology series.

It will be very interesting to reread these comments after actually seeing the issue.
I read, but didn’t buy…thank God. What a waste of $4 that would have been. On the other hand, it reminded me how much I liked the Nightcrawler solo series from a while back.
