I stuck around this book way longer than I should have. Wood gets one, maybe two issues to make me stay.

EXACTLY what i’m doing. This book has been on the chopping block, but kept it around to see if Wood can bring some life to this book.

Didn’t care for the previous writer, but I will check Wood’s X-Men out. I love Storm is this is one of the few books where she has a chance for the spotlight.

  3. Oh is this where Brian Wood takes over? Very cool…I really shouldn’t get another monthly book since I’m trying to trim, but I’m very curious to see where this goes since I’ll probably get this in trades.

I usually really enjoy Wood’s writing but his WatXM mini was not really my thing, I didnt even get all the issues… I might give this a try but if it doesnt do it for me I’ll just keep pulling his Conan.

I haven’t read this book since Curse of the Mutants, just too many books in general, and too many X-Men titles in particular kept me from keeping this. But now that Wood is on it, I’m curious again, and I will give this a chance to see what he can do. I’m about to die from X-Men fatigue.

Is it officially Brian Wood week? Looks like it to me.

  7. zlbenson zlbenson says:

Curious, I was thinking about jumping on and trying this out with Brian Wood starting to write this – couple questions:

Is he going to be on this for an undetermined amount of time? or do we know he is only for a short while?

Secondly – what’s the lineup of THIS X-men book? I haven’t read any X books for awhile, and its confusing who is where.

  8. player1 player1 says:

I liked what Gischler was doing so I subscribed.

Also, I really can’t afford too many mutant books at full cover price.

Subscribing means they’re almost two for the price of one.

  9. zattaric zattaric says:

My POTW!!!! Based purely on the fact that Storm actually DID something in this book! She’s even showing some backbone to Cyclops!! She has every reason to, she lead the X-Men longer than he ever did! I’m in. Way to go Wood

I have to agree completely…this book always seemed to lack a point of view and it’s been far too long since we have seen Storm be an exciting character. Wood has really given it life and I am coming back for more.
