  1. I never asked for this, but I will definitely check out the first issue.

  2. Nick Spencer as writer, so its definitely worth a shot.

  3. If this is similar to the likes of Jeff Parker’s run on Thunderbolts, it’ll be well worth reading. I’m definitely in from the start, hoping it will break out in the way Hawkeye has this past year or so.

  4. Really hope this is good, they hyped it a bit at C2E2 and it sounds promissing, if done right this could be a really fun book.

  5. I’m a fan of these baddies since The Deadly Foes of Spider-Man and i’m a sucker for a good heist story. Will Hydro Man or Rhino be in the mix somewhere? I hope so. Who’s the cat in black?

    • That’s Overdrive. He’s one of the newer foes, i think he first appeared shortly after Brand New Day started. He’s a wheelman. His powers stem from nano-bots that he can use to change the form of any vehicle he touches. I’m guessing he’s the getaway driver for this operation.

    • Thanks for the 411, RoiVampire. Much appreciated! 🙂

  6. Could be a lot of fun. Great team of villains and the idea of a heist-comic is right up my alley.

  7. I guess this happens before the latest Superior Spider-Man issue cause Boomerang looks like he has his old suit and not the Spider-Slayer augmented one, also… didn’t Spidey made him explode?

    I know, comic book logic…

    • This was the only thing that took me out of this wonderful book as well. I get that it is comics, and to be fair, sometimes out of continuity stuff is the best (basically this is where the creative team or publisher tells you to not worry about putting this into a set timeline)…I get that. I still have trouble with the fact that a week ago you basically cyborged-up the lead character of this book and as far as I can tell blew him up shortly after (given the trend in Superior, for all we know Boomerang is supposed to have gotten killed). Now if this book is a hit, clearly Marvel will tell Slott to put a fix in- somehow Boomer survives the explosion and somehow gets put back together (i.e. no more slayer enhancements).
Still, on its own this was a good issue.
      Is it a sex thing?

    • Yeah this has to take place before recent issues because of the Boomerang thing and because Spider-Ock has the Chameleon locked up in his dungeon with the other villains he’s been collecting in Avenging Spider-man.

  8. Great issue. Could this be the next Hawkeye?

  9. I barely picked this up, ended up absolutely loving it.

  10. Picked this up because it was a light week, ended up being my pic of the week. Go figure lol, was a nice surprise.

  11. This was hilarballs so good

  12. This book was so much fun! Definitely get the Hawkeye comparisons. I hope Boomerang remains the main character. He’s hilarious. ^_^

  13. Amazing debut issue and my POTW , this was hilarious

when this was announced I never thought in a million years I’d be picking it up but glad to be wrong again. This looks great.

  15. Wait is this some kind of sex thing or

  16. Having dropped 6 books that came out this week I thought I would give this a try. Really glad I did.

  17. I am not familiar with these characters. I enjoyed the book, but are they usually this pathetic? really liked the comedy and the art

  18. I’ve never seen Steve Lieber draw like this! It’s like Steve Lieber by way of Darwyn Cooke. Loved those bold lines. Wow.

  19. I’ve always loved the core of this band of misfits(Boomer, Speed Demon, Shocker, Beatle((what happened to the male Beatle??)) but I’m really wanting to see Hydro Man. Might he be the sixth member?).
The writing is excellent and the art is pretty good.
    5 stars & POTW.

Question: Who will be the 6th member and/or will there be a 6th member? Might there be an ongoing joke that they’re the new Sinister 6, but there’s only 5 of them? Will the Chameleon take over the group becoming the 6th member? Ok, ok…I should have said “Questions!”. 😉

  20. So glad this was good, it was actually way better than I was expecting! Only minor problem with it for me was Shocker’s characterization, he had kind of grown out of the un-confident thing and I was enjoying him being a more serious villain in the Spider-books….but I have to say, the way this was written I might not care that they are going back to that.
