Loving that magazine style cover. Might just give this a go.

  2. kellansmith says:

I picked up the Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu that was in this style and loved it.  And since I love Dr. Strange this is a must pull.  I’m excited to see what they do with the black and white format.

I’m gonna have to wait to see what people say after wednesday. I can’t put my finger on it, but i have a feeling i won’t be getting this.

    Maybe…but probably not.

  5. I feel like Mike Carey could do something interesting with Doctor Strange.  Look at his Hellblazer run.

  6. Whoops!  Now that I think about it, Milligan is doing HB right now.

Love this cover. Will have to pick this up.

Classic tales of the Strange. An anthology that brings the Doctor’s fan to the roots of the character.

Gillen’s Mephisto’s servant tale, Milligan’s Common man’s inner-demon short and Carey’s prose Duel in the Dark Dimension from the Journal of Doctor Stephen Strange(Awesome pulp-magic), flesh out very distinct aspect of our struggling Magic hero.

Must read for fan of Dr. Stange and the magic corners of the Marvel U.

I now dream of The mystical hands of Doctor Strange #2.

  9. I’m so glad I bought this.

This was my favorite book of the week. Some amazing art and great supernatural stories.

The prose piece was awesome too.

My faith in good creators was rewarded. I almost passed on this even though Dr. Strange is one of my favorite characters.

It was the list of creators that got me to pick it up.

We also got a bit of some Marcos Martin art.

    Highly recommended.

  10. I really wished there’d been more Martin art.  Wasn’t a huge fan of the McKeever story, but the first two were great.  I will gladly check this out every month.

@SunnyvaleTrash- This is a one-shot. Thats why I wrote I DREAM of a #2. But it would be awesome to have this every other month, magazine style.

  12. Poopmonster Poopmonster says:

Loved this book.  This is the Dr. Strange I was looking forward to with that last Strange series.  I’m all for a retcon knocking Voodoo back, dumping off his new side-kick and bringing back classic Dr. Strange bad-assedness.

  13. @rockingeek – That is unfortunate.  More, I say!
