  1. Been reading since Big Time. I’m about six months behind, now.

Enjoying seeing the 50th year celebration stuff, but I’ll be letting the subscription lapse pretty soon.

  2. Avatar photo P2 (@maudblog) says:

Came in for the anniversary and will stick around at least until #700 – where Slott promises something big. We’ll see after that.

  3. Cool parody cover.

  4. I just dropped this title. This 3 times a month has really taken it’s toll on my paycheck. Hopefully Marvel can start putting quality over quantity again (such as Hawkeye d(‘-‘ d)

  5. I realllly hate Alpha so far, but Im loving the comic and Slotts writing so Its always fun and interesting no matter what. But still, bring Mysterio back! 😉

  6. I liked 692 and this one was pretty decent too but I plan on dropping the title after 700. I agree that over-saturation is the book’s downfall and all the expected hoopla (product) around the anniversary won’t help those that feel the same.

  7. I loved the crap out of this issue

  8. Already over Alpha

  9. I didn’t read comics for a couple of decades but was drawn back in with DC’s new 52. I’ve been reading all the Bat titles and Swamp Thing.

So I decided to check in on Marvel. I bought an issue of Daredevil. It was alright, although it seemed a bit more lighthearted than what I remember.

Then I bought this issue of Spiderman. My first thought was, this is how he’s being drawn now? Seriously? Too cartoonish for my taste. The writing had some funny one liners but overall it was nothing great, especially for $3.99.

Is it just me or is Marvel aiming for a younger audience than DC? It’s great for the kids, but for me… not so much.

  10. Getting tired of Alpha already, I just think he is a dumb character.
