got chopped last issue due to budget. Unfortunate.

  2. kwisdumb kwisdumb says:

This has been pretty good, but I’m only going to give it a few more issues to really lure me in, otherwise it’s going to get dropped.

  3. Andrew Andrew says:

I wish Jim Cheung was pencilling the interiors. Caselli isn’t bad, but the covers just make me pine for Cheung on the interiors.

  4. zattaric zattaric says:

I only wish that Daisy didn’t look so much like Maria Hill.  I have to keep reminding myself that it’s not her.

  5. kwisdumb kwisdumb says:

    @zattaric: Completely agreed.

  6. USPUNX USPUNX says:

@zattaric: At least she doesn’t look like Angelina Jolie anymore like she did in Secret War.

  7. edward says:

    yep, this is good

Apparently I’m very, very foolish. I get excited everytime I see a cover for this title, and then I open up to the pages and "oh yeah, this again." I find this title to be near-unreadable. It actually sucks joy out of my body as I read it. I don’t know if it’s Hickman, Caselli, or the overall production on this book. I’ll give this one a shot, but if it doesn’t turn it around, I’m not paying $2.99 for a pretty cover again.

  9. patio patio says:

crap. I just read issue #3 again, well, actually really read the whole thing through for the first time, and I have to rescind my comment above. It’s actually pretty damn good. It’s just hard to slow down and look at, but once I did, not bad at all.

  10. goat77 goat77 says:

    Best Marvel book right now.

  11. See I just don’t get the Daisy Johnson vs. Maria Hill thing.  With all due respect, how hard is it to just say to yourself, "I’m reading Secret Warriors, which co-stars Daisy Johnson, must not be Maria Hill"?

  12. NealAppeal NealAppeal says:

just noticed how the covers link up. Neat! Also, what’s with the green people?

  13. They’re Hydra agents

  14. drakedangerz drakedangerz says:

I ended up picking this up.  I dont know, it just doesn’t click with me.  I love the art, and I realize that its solid storytelling on both Caselli and Hickman’s part, its just that the story doesn’t interest me as much as I thought it would.  I’m dropping it for sures now.

  15. RoiVampire RoiVampire says:

this one has me back on bard, last issue i considered dropping because it hadn’t wowed me since the first issue reveal. but man that last page, that last word, ooooooh

  16. Noto Noto says:

100% agree with Roi. This issue had the same impact with me as the first. Awesome stuff. A near perfect comic.

  17. edward says:

    yep, this is good

that last page was pretty cool. there were actually so really nice little moments in this book. i liked the old guide dude saying ‘you can go’ and the shocked response. i also liked the question is it gay to have sex with a robot of youyrself. the answer is in your case, yes, in my case, it’s perfectly understandable.

just so everyone knows, not all of australia is like the depiction in this book. only the shit parts

  18. kwisdumb kwisdumb says:

Wow, I completely take back what I said before. I had been reading this series since issue #01 and hadn’t really felt a connection until now. All of the Nick Fury stuff was great, and the whole Australia trip even made me care about the other characters a bit too. I’m very, very excited for where this is going now.

5-stars, this could end up being POW, which is exciting because upon picking it up I had no expectations of this being above 3 stars. Well done to all those involved.

  19. tschafer tschafer says:

This is continuing to get better and better.  Glad i gave this book a shot.

  20. mikeandzod21 mikeandzod21 says:

this is a long haul book.  i predict that by issue 12, everyone’s going to be like "holy shit, secret warriors is fucking awesome. i cant believe what theyr doing here" cuz im getting the same vibe reading this as i was when i was reading the early issues of the Starman Omnibus.

  21. zattaric zattaric says:

@ABirdsEyeView  I get what you’re saying, but C’mon.  A woman is going to be Fury’s right hand and run this operation just like Maria ran Shield and Marvel can’t even give a different uniform, haircut, or hair color?  I’m getting better at remembering it’s not Maria now, but they could have made this easier on us.

  22. skeets skeets says:

    "Recoil."

  23. I dropped it after 2 issues. Are we still getting a supernatutal element in the book?

  24. Crippler Crippler says:

Yup, this issue was fantastic.  I think issue 5 will really begin to reveal the promise that the book has held.  I am onboard 110%.

Dum Dum and Fury swapping sexual exploit stories?  That’s gold baby.

  25. odare77 says:

Completely back on board with this issue-it’s no longer on the chopping block form

  26. Rofo Rofo says:

The Last page was one of the best Nick Fury moments in years.

  27. ntn1015 says:

I don’t know what you all see in this I can barely choke this down. It is the worst book I’m still reading (until next month when I drop it). Shield working for hydra is the biggest gimmic ever. We all bought the Skrull Gimmic and wow that got dropped like a rock. This is going to play out like Secret Invasion and House of M where it has no impact and the ending sucked. My faith in Bendis is gone. I’m almost a total DC guy except for Cap and Spidey which are still good, but outside of that books and ideas like this one are why. Gimmics and cheap one-liners don’t make for a good overall story.
