  1. The last one-shot was excellent. One of the best Punisher comics to come out in a long time. Hope this continues the trend. Never heard of the writer though.

Most of the MAX one-shots I’ve read have been fantastic.

  10. This was shockingly a very great one-shot to read, almost my POTW.

It takes a while to figure out what exactly is going on, but once I did figure it out I loved it. Butterfly is a pretty intriguing character and (SPOILERS) I hope she comes back somehow. The art by Campbell was also great, but the coloring of this still makes me double think he needs a new colorist. Either way a great comic for Punisher fans.

@TNC This was my pick this week.  Totally sweet take involving the first arc of MAX.  It was pretty cool to have a story affected by the Punisher, but with him in the background.

  12. @vadam – If you haven’t read it and can track it down, there was a decent one-shot earlier in the MAX run.  Frank was mostly a background character, chasing the criminal that was the main character of the issue.

  13. vadamowens vadamowens says:

Do you remember the title?  Otherwise I won’t really know where to look.

  14. @vadamowens: Glad to see someone else really liked this. The MAX one-shots have been very good lately. It also gives me more options to think if/when/god forbid Jason Aaron leaves the ongoing. Rob Williams and Valerie D’Orazio don’t sound like sexy names; but they can write one hell of a Punisher comic.

Everyone once in a while you read something that makes you say WOW. This was one of those times. This was brilliant. Not just my POTW, but my Pick Of 2010, so far.

Oops *Every* once in a while …

@vadamowens- The Massimo hit in the book was in the early issues of Ennis’ MAX run, & from memory it would be in the first trade (I’m not 100% sure because I read it when it came out in issues) but I can’t recommend reading the whole run highly enough.

@Wade I was actually talking about @sunnyvale’s post talking about a previous one-shot with a similar approach as this book.  I think TNC tried to answer the question, but I still don’t have a title.  Can anyone help me out of that?

I’ve actually read all of the MAX books thus far, so I’m up to date.  Thanks for the help and being so thorough:)

So far my pic for best issue of the year

  19. captbastrd captbastrd says:

The writer has a comic blog as well, which is where I heard of this issue in the 1st place.

  20. WadeWilson WadeWilson says:

@vada- My bad, lol. Not sure which one-shot  @sunnyvale is talking about, but there was another one-shot this year called "Get Castle" that was also REALLY good.

    Cool. Thanks
