X-Men Noir #1 (OF 4)
"The coroner's men flipped the redheaded corpse over so Dukes and Magnus from Homicide could get a better look at her. 'Better' being a relative term in this case, with the claw marks that slashed her face into a featureless, bloody mask and turned her guts into a butcher shop explosion.
"But the tattoo -- the simple, encircled 'X' above the left shoulder blade -- remained intact, and Dukes pointed it out with the toe of his wingtip once Peter the rookie was done heaving up lunch.
"'See this ink?' he said. 'Means she did time at this reform school upstate, run by this shrink, Xavier...'"

I hope this is going to be good. But I have a fear this will be just like 1602, first time it's good, but then it just get gimicky. But we'll see. Still, sound kind of cool.
Posted by JoeCom on 12/02/08 at 01:02 PMHuge teasers for this thing and barely a wimper comes from this release....I would imagine there would be more pulls/interest in this.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 12/02/08 at 02:00 PMThe promo indicated Magneto and the Blob are homocide detectives. Worth a shot.
Posted by Andrew on 12/02/08 at 02:08 PMI am much looking forward to this take of the X-Men. I will buy almost all things noir so this is too intriguing not to pick up. Previews for it look great; take a gander if you haven't already:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=1425I think either the noir concept is turning people off or it may be the price point for the 4-book mini. Just my guess.
Posted by ghostwriter on 12/03/08 at 12:59 PMthis was fantastic!
Posted by Kimbo on 12/04/08 at 07:15 PMthis looked fucking good. sorry for the swearing but it did. But I didn't buy it because of the price tag. And here in Canada, the Canadian Dollar isn't worth s---t lately. A 2.99 comic is 3.75, and a 3.99 is 5 buck. That totally sucks. I've buying lesser and lesser books. Maybe I'll wait for the trade. Or maybe not...Damn.
Posted by tittom on 12/04/08 at 10:39 PMGah! I forgot to pick this up!
Posted by Andrew on 12/04/08 at 11:00 PMI did pick it up...and found it to be very good. I hope it continues on this path *and* Spider-Man Noir is just as good.

it seems like after all the weird ads in their books marvel would be making a bigger deal of this first issue. i was surprised when it popped up on the pull list
