Marvels was one of the books that got me back into comics. I will totally pick this up.

I'll wait for the trade and hope they do a matching trade that can go along my Marvels one.

Wow they couldnt even get Alex Ross to at least do the covers....Pass until trade.

@ Hawkboy - Do you mean Ruins maybe?

Marvels seemed like a really big step for comics at the time. But now that the painted style is so prevalent this doesn't seem as special. But it's probably worth a look.

@ Hawkboy and Patio

There was also that one, what was it called...Code of Honor? Call of Duty? Something like that. It was about a NYPD beat cop, fully painted. It covered the seedy aspects of the Marvel U in the '80s. It was clearly inspired by Marvels, if not directly related.

@flakbait - right the first time, it was called Code of Honor (1997) and it was written by Chuck Dixon and had a ton of different artists attached (Brad Parker and Tristan Shane; Terese Nielsen and Vincent Evans; Bob Wakelin, Derick Gross and Paul Lee).  It wasn't the best story (IMO), and I don't think it was ever published as a trade.

Yep guys I think Code of Honor is the one I'm thinking of. I would bet money that Marvel touted it as a sequel to Marvels back then....

anybody gonna review this?

Perhaps Spoilers

Ok this story had some things going on it, that I thought had happened in Marvels. It sort of left me with buyers remorse. Marvels was just this amazing story and a big part of that was the Alex Ross art no Ross no Marvels. It was hard to figure out what year it was in the story, was I the only one confused?
