This is going to be sweet.

Just seeing the two in different costumes on the cover is making me pumped up.

Best. Concept. Ever. Also... Fred Van Lente is awesome. This Pak guy ain't so bad either. It's a shame this book doesn't have higher pulls. It's consistently been great and for my money, the second best series coming out of Marvel right now.

@Prax: Consistantly great? I agree with that sentence but didn't you think about dropping this a couple of months ago? So it couldn't be that consistant for you.

@TNC I don't know that I'd called it consistantly great, but it certainly has been consistently great. ;-) The issue I had with the series was that I was getting bored with it. It wasn't bad, just... it hadn't really stepped up its game since setting its pace. Granted, it did so the very next issue and I admitted my wrongness. I'm still not exactly enjoying the Cho issues as the Herc ones, but it's been a great ride since the soft-boot.

@Prax: Just think in a couple of months we get our own special event for the character. So all of the patience of being a 'B' title might end once 'Assault on New Olympus' starts.

I was going to drop this book after the casino underworld storyline but I'm glad I stuck around cuz this is some awesome stuff here.

Oh my god; this issue was so damn good. Pick of the week again for me. Plus this needs to be also stated:

Probably the best single issue of the year. Seriously, this was so hilarious and well done it was definitely a fantastic comic book. The fight was funny and well drawn, and as a whole this entire arc was just enjoyable. Your REALLY missing out on a fantastic series with this issue.

Best of the year and probably my favorite issue period of this series. Great comic book right here.

A fantastic issue. Comedy, solid writing, wonderful play with the characters, the plot becomes truly secondary here... in an absolutely fitting way. 5/5 This was close to being my POTW, too. So we'll safely bill it as Runner Up. ;-) I can't really say much more about it that way. The Thor/Herc two-page spread fight looks fantastic. My compliments to Reilly Brown.

Wow, this is ranked third for the week (as of this post) for POTW!

I don't expect it to beat Adventure Comics or Walking Dead but thanks for everyone to make this their pick! This issue was amazing (again I find it best single issue of 2009) and it deserves to be ranked this high on the site. Let's hope this is the start of this series getting even more recognicion.
