Guardians Of Galaxy #19
Will Kang Conquer the Guardians? Rocked by the aftershocks of War of Kings, Star-Lord's team - now castaways across shattered timelines - are desperate to find a route home before all possible futures fuse into one dark nightmare! Guest-starring the original Guardians of the Galaxy (sort of) and the infamous time-traveling despot who may be their only hope! Yes, it's more sci-fi shenanigans from the book that has ComicBookResources.com raving, "Abnett and Lanning do an amazing job of delivering a quick-moving, jam-packed, high-octane, bombastic epic."

Awesome cover, Old school goodness!
Posted by rockingeek on 10/26/09 at 04:58 PMI asked about this over in the Nova thread, as well, but what happened after the return of Magus at the end of #17? Was that resolved in War of Kings, or has it yet to reappear in GotG? I got confused by the start of a new arc last issue which seemed to completely ignore that plot thread.
Posted by Paradiddle on 10/26/09 at 05:04 PM@Paradiddle: If you look at the preview pages for this issue of GotG, you'll see that they begin to address Magus' return. My guess is that more will be done next month when Walker returns, since he seems to be the one in charge of Warlock and Rocket...
Posted by Itiscritical on 10/26/09 at 05:11 PMI've been enjoying Craig's art all along, glad to have you onboard. Can't wait!
Posted by skeets on 10/26/09 at 05:22 PMYeah, this is definitely headed some massive climax where all the strings they've been introducing since the series launched come together (probably jumping off into the next space mega-series).
Posted by southbymidwest on 10/26/09 at 08:17 PMYou know you have a great series when all you have to do is look at the cover and think:
'Shit that can't be good.'

Posted by GungaDin on 10/29/09 at 02:23 AMThis is my 2nd issue of GOTG and shit, did that all really happen?
Posted by Mustbedamned on 10/29/09 at 01:22 PMAs someone who's about a week+ behind everyone, reading everyone's "ohsh*t*" comments without spoilers is one of the more rewarding aspects of reading comics. Thanks guy.
Posted by OttoBott on 10/29/09 at 02:49 PMThe Shit!
Posted by rockingeek on 10/29/09 at 06:21 PMNooooooo!!
Posted by MikeFarley on 10/29/09 at 07:46 PM@OttoBott I don't even want to justify it with "AND THEN I CAN'T BELIEVE WHEN [deleted] HAPPENED!!! OMGWTFBBQ" because if you read it, you'll know EXACTLY what happened. You can't not. There's no point spoiling it.

Wow, I didn't see that coming! But, I'm actually fine with all of those people gone except for Mantis. She was one of my favorites!

Cosmo... noooooooooo : (
Posted by corpseed on 10/30/09 at 01:24 PMThat felt.... real. They better find a way to get this undone.
Posted by magnum240 on 10/30/09 at 01:29 PMThis series is phenomenal. Although some of these deaths may not be permanent, I'm definitely interested to read further. That's what this series has been about anyway. An unlikely team trying to protect the universe, deal with loss, right the wrongs, all the while dealing with their number one enemy: the balance of the universe/life - the fact that there is always a price to pay. This is probably the biggest consequence yet, and of course, it's for the team's biggest/most important mission yet. It should be interesting to see how the remaining team grows from this.

Posted by theegreatone on 11/01/09 at 05:56 PMProbably my favorite book right now, but I'm not a fan of Wes Craig's art. Although Guardians has a comedic undertone, I think Craig's pencils are a little too cartoony for this series. I think Brad Walker is coming back to the book and I hope he stays for good.
Posted by tigermojoe on 11/01/09 at 08:10 PMWalker can't do a monthly, Graig's the fill in artist.

I didn't think I would ever say this, but Craig's art is starting to grow on me...
