Cable #11
"WASTELAND BLUES," PART 1 OF 2
Deep in the future, Cable and the now seven-year-old mutant messiah find themselves in the middle of humanity's last stand. And humanity loses! Cable is forced to timeslide into an uncertain future, hoping to find survivors, or food, or water... anything. But the longer Cable and the girl wander, the greater the devastation. As they fight to survive out in the barren wastelands, the girl starts to ask Cable the tough questions he's been dreading - namely: who am I, and why do some people.

Posted by Ruo21 on 02/02/09 at 05:55 PMMckelvie on Cable??? This blows my mind!
Posted by cromulent on 02/02/09 at 06:01 PMI love that cover.
Posted by Crippler on 02/02/09 at 07:33 PMHas McKelvie ever drawn someone that didn't look like an indie kid? It'll be weird to see how he draws a old post-apocalyptic muscle head.
Posted by WinTheWonderboy on 02/03/09 at 01:32 AMI think the change in art will bring me back to this arc...
Posted by rift1128 on 02/04/09 at 08:40 AMWhat the blue hell was going on with the art in this issue? It's really hard not to be taken out of it when you flip a page and the kid is suddenly years older and has a different hairstyle.
Posted by Templar on 02/05/09 at 05:25 AMlost in the art change... THERE ARE USES FOR CABLE'S POUCHES!!!
Posted by kndoubleu on 02/05/09 at 06:44 AMI only bought this for McKelvie, and heres something i thought i'd never say about a Cable comic, but that was that surprisingly good.
Posted by WinTheWonderboy on 02/05/09 at 09:40 AMThe art in the second half of the book doesnt fit the tone. The way Jamie Mckelvie is drawing Cable was enogh to completely take me out of the book. I hope his tenure on the book only lasts til next issue and the conclusion of the arc. It would be a shame to have to suffer through his "skinny" cable for the entire X-force crossover ,though the way that book is going it is probable it will be questionable at best.
Posted by AlanRob on 02/05/09 at 08:30 PMJamie Mckelvie's art is just what this book needed. I think I've had my fill of Ariel Olivetti for awhile.
Posted by ActualButt on 02/06/09 at 12:15 AMI'm really enjoying this title; can't believe how much so. Only traveling further into the future, and allowing the characters to age has been a great idea.
Posted by cubsmodano on 02/07/09 at 01:13 PMGotta agree with a couple of the posters above. Got around to reading this last night and the art change in the middle really threw me, got me pissed and made me question my subscription to this title...

i dropped this a while back, but i am totally picking this up just to see what a McKelvie drawn Marvel book looks like.
