  1. I’m kind of excited about this, but after the last arc my expectations are much lower.  I just don’t care for Robinson’s take on JLA but I’ll stay on for the duration.  I want this to actually be the flagship book it’s supposed to be, but my feelings are “meh.”  Glad Bagley’s off the book, he got sloppy with the last arc, but the writing hasn’t been up to snuff either.

  2. i dropped this a while ago for money reasons, but I have always liked Eclipso. Heres hoping I am making the right choice by picking it back up again

  3. Ron can get him Brett Booth fix here.

  4. Robinson is keeping me on this title with the promise of The Shade showing up.

  5. I dropped this title after the mind rape issue but I’m jumping back on since St.Walker is joining the team….dammit.

  6. I’m picking this series up for the first time this week. I love Robinson and I’ve always wanted to read an Eclipso story, so why not?

  7. I’m sticking with it minus Bagley. Robinson’s dialog makes it worth it for me. Hopefully there is plenty.

  8. Bagley wasn’t a good fit for this title. Loved him on Thunderbolts and Ultimate Spider-Man, but didn’t like his DC stuff. Teen Titans probably would have been a better fit. Looking forward to Brett Booth’s art.

  9. Just gotta say bring back the original line up of characters and then add as needed never subtracting the main characters. Just like back in the 70’s and early 80’s. This would be the way to go:

    Flash(Barry Allen)
    Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
    Batman
    Superman
    Wonder Woman
    Martian Manhunter
    Aquaman
    Elongated Man
    The Atom
    Hawkman and Hawkwoman
    Firestorm(Ronnie and The Professor)
    Zantana
    Green Arrow(Ollie)
    Black Canary
    Red Tornado
and then use the old roll call for story arcs as needed.
Keep the JLI as a seperate title right now it is kick ass.

    Need I say more……

  10. Not bad.  Still to many narration boxes.  It seems even the letterer was confused because at one point he had the narrator speaking instead of Eclipso.  But I enjoyed the story so far and am drawn into the next issue.  I’ve never read anything with Eclipso and I was pleasantly suprised by Robinson’s characterization of him.  My only concern is how this fits with JSA.  I assume he’s in a bed because of the events from that title, but last I knew, he left the hospital and was MIA.

  11. @buck2889 – I think the “narrator” boxes you speak of are actually Eclipso’s host’s, Bruce, thoughts which are in a continual dialog with Eclipso’s throughout the issue. I loved this.

I wonder if when Robinson cowrites (early JSA and Hawkman both with Johns) if he handles more of the actual scripting vs plot.

  12. The art wasn’t awful, but Robinson can’t tell a story to save his life.
