INCOGNITO BAD INFLUENCES #1

LAST YEAR’S BREAKOUT HIT FINALLY RETURNS!

By the award-winning team of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. One of the biggest Hollywood options of the year, nominated for THREE Eisner Awards, INCOGNITO is finally back for more! It’s apocalyptic pulp noir at its finest! It’s been over a year since Zack Overkill came out of Witness Protection to build a new life. But working for the government isn’t that different from being controlled by them, and his new secret identity is becoming more trouble than it’s worth… So what will Zack do when tasked with a mission that sends him on a hunt into darkest corners of the super-criminal underworld where he was raised?

Also returning with Incognito are the exclusive Pulp magazine essays by Jess Nevins, Professor of pulp history, only available in the single issues of Incognito.

  7. Sweet, loved the first one. Can’t wait to read this in issues.

  8. although, am I allowed to nit pick just a tad?  I would prefer more Criminal..

@ABirdseyeView — When I see this title, that is what I think every time.

So happy to get my Brubaker/Phillips fix. Incognito or Criminal, I don’t care. Their stuff is great.

  12. I’ve been down on Brubaker lately & he used to be one of my favorite writers. Hopefully this will be the start of a creative resurgence.

I thought the first one was pretty good, but I don’t remember anything about the first series.  I wish this was more Criminal, but I will buy this because I love the creative team and I LOVE those back-ups.

  15. it’s tough because I’m sure if Criminal didn’t exist, I would think this was the greatest thing of it’s kind.  but Criminal does exist.

  16. edward edward says:

oh, for sure, Criminal is like a breath of fresh air. Incognito is a little more of the same with a twist

  17. jwaesch jwaesch says:

Right now, I’m actually glad to see more Incognito rather than criminal.  My only dilemma is whether to buy it in issues or wait for the trade, because in the past I have always tended to go back and re-read the entire arcs in one sitting, but then again there is the back matter in the issues(which have turned me on to other great crime entertainment/history).

  18. I’ve recently decided to give away/sell the issues that I have for Criminal and Incognito so that I can have the trades instead, so I actually think I’m gonna trade wait this one.

  19. robbydzwonar robbydzwonar says:

I never got into any Criminal but Incognito is the shit!

  20. I’m all in with this one.

  21. vinh vinh says:

I enjoyed this first issue, but story feels like it may be derivative of Sleeper.

  22. Urthona Urthona says:

I love the main characters snobbism.

  23. mikeandzod21 mikeandzod21 says:

There was a ‘Sleeper’ page layout at the end that made me giggle. This was great.

  24. k5blazer k5blazer says:

Too reminiscent of Sleeper, I was expecting more than a re-tread…
