Cool Nick Fury is back awesome.

  2. tittom tittom says:

I can’t resist that type of artwork.

  3. OttoBott OttoBott says:

Me neither. JPL is one of my all-time favorites.

That said, is it just me, or does it look like the blond-haired dude at the bottom is shooting Fury in the thigh?

  4. cromulent cromulent says:

No, he’s shooting between Nick’s legs. Only the best are on Nick’s team….

  5. drakedangerz drakedangerz says:

Damn, I didn’t even notice this book until I looked at Conor’s pull list!  JPL and Nick Fury, that is a very tempting combination.

I’ll see if my store has copies, might pick it up

  6. This was beautiful! a great WW2 romp if there was such a thing.

  7. Noto Noto says:

This was a fairly inconsequential one-shot, but damn if it wasn’t a great story with beautiful art.

Is there any chance of a Sgt. Fury omnibus collecting the original series?

  8. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

@Noto: What was inconsequential about it?

  9. Noto Noto says:

@conor: Near as I can tell (and maybe I’m wrong) it doesn’t have any sort of consequence with anything else running in the Marvel U. I’m not even sure what the underlying purpose of this book was meant to be. (EX: Is it to test for interest a Sgt. Fury revival series? Is it a way to showcase the partnership between Leon and Alexander? The solicit states that it’s a prequel to Captain America: White, but nothing about this enhances that series any and neither Loeb or Sale are involved here,)

I’m not knocking the book by calling it inconsequential, I loved it and it was very close to being my POTW, I’m just can’t wrap my head around why it exists, I’m just glad it does.

  10. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

@Noto: It exists to tell a good story.  That’s the most important thing about any comic book.  The effect it has on other comic books is nowhere near the top of the list.

  11. Noto Noto says:

@conor: That’s a true enough sentiment but it’s not one I’m used to from Marvel. You’ll have to please pardon me for feeling dubious.
