  1. I WANT THIS AS A POSTER, MARVEL

  2. Glad to have Aja back even though he’s not doing the whole book!

  3. Aja and ANNIE WU! Awesome!

  4. Oof, great cover!

  5. That cover is amazing.

  6. Getting this one and issue #7 in my next comic shipment. Can’t wait to read them!

  7. David Aja is brilliant.

  8. The second best book Marvel is putting out, the only one better is Daredevil. The very close third is New Avengers. I was late tot the Hawkguy party, but I’m all caught up and I love it.

  9. This book is so good. And the covers are so sexy. My only complaint is the stupid red Marvel now banner has dictated that the cover art is red themed as opposed to purple as it was before. Not the worst thing in the world. But dammit, red does not scream Hawkeye!

  10. Wow, I didn’t know about Annie Wu, and this is her site. Her stuff looks amazing!!

  11. Looks kinda groovy.

    Great cover.

  12. my favorite comic right now. Everyone working on this book is firing on all cylinders. love it

  13. Part of me felt ripped off that half of this issue’s page count was full-page illustrations and part of me clapped at the brilliance of it all, obviously. Can’t wait for the Clown!

  14. Man between this, FF, and JiM – I picked up some kick ass Marvel comics this week.

  15. The first issue of this book that I didn’t love. Still great, just didn’t satisfy like the others.

    • I actually was very disappointed in this issue. Nowhere near as good as the previous issues, I’d go as far to say that this is actually a bad issue. I found it very hard to care about what was going on, I think it had to do with the lack of backstory to some of the moments. Found that to be a bit jarring and taking me out of the plot.

    • This was the first issue I picked up, but I’ve been thinking about grabbing the trade. I thought it was good, not great, although I loved the overall feel of the book. Think I’ll be even happier with the first 5 issues? Seemed like there was some back info that I missed.

    • Oh, definitely. The first 7 are pretty uniformly phenomenal. This is the exception.

  16. POTW!

  17. This book has been nothing like I expected. And I’m soooooo okay with that.

  18. By far my favorite issue so far of this series. Loved the old style covers, and the begining with all the ex’s. The art has been great every issue but nice to have an issue where he doesn’t get put in the hospital by a few guys in sweat pants, that just seems unbelievable to me and had been anoying to keep happening.

  19. So this was my first issue of this book.

I loved the style, the crazy characters, the unique approach. But when I got to the end, I didn’t know if I liked the issue or not. It just left me cold. Maybe none of the characters made me care about them?

Whereas with FF this week I loved the whole thing and want more now.

  20. Ok there is one thing I was confused about. I recognized a good portion of the villains at the crime table… but I didn’t recognize the red head – so was she “Cherry” or just a villain I couldn’t remember? That was the part that left me scratching my noggin.

    • That was Typhoid Mary I’m pretty sure.

    • Ok I figured she was a pre existing villain. Because I thought if that was supposed to be Cherry it was an interesting twist but that made no sense with the story those romance pulp covers were telling. Thanks!

  21. Is Hawkeye set in Hells Kitchen? All those criminals were Daredevil villains.

  22. Awesome issue. Loved the covers of the old style comic. Just felt like an old style comic. You never know what kind of story it’s going to be in Hawkguy. But it’s always good.
