the last issue sorely lacked sad-sack broke Hal Jordan, we need that guy back!

  2. JimBilly4 JimBilly4 says:

Exactly. Who am I going to buy my super hero insurance from? Snapper Carr?

  3. edward edward says:

Hey, guys, Hal has always be a sad-sack, you just need to read between the lines

I’m enjoying this, don’t know why

  4. martinNL martinNL says:

Never read anything GL before the relaunch, but this is really good imo.

  5. jonny jonny says:

Jesus, I’ve been waiting for this book for the last month. This could honestly be my favorite book thus far from the New 52 simply for the fact that I love Sinestro being an arrogant badass putting Hal in his place.

  6. TomiH TomiH says:

I’m really enjoying this series. Sinestro is one of the most interesting characters in the DCU as far as I’m concerned so as long as he’s a prominent figure, I’m staying on this book.

  7. TheRealVenom TheRealVenom says:

This and aquaman is really giving me a man crush on John’s writing. Guy is just amazing.

  8. Flash923 Flash923 says:

What a great book as well!! i know it is not in my top 10 last month however; maybe this month. There are so many good titles including this one coming out of DC it is hard to have a solid 10!! This title is very strong in story, characters, and the artwork is very, very good. Sinestro has always been one of DC’s biggest and badest!!

Anyone who can shut Hal Jordan up is okay with me. I’m really not into all the GL stuff but this and Red Lanterns are def in my top 10.

  10. dkbrain dkbrain says:

It seems Johns has taken a more simplistic approach to storytelling in JLA and GL. It is working for me after the cluster that was Brightest Day.

I also applaud Johns for avoiding cringe inducing jokes and snarky dialogue from the heroes. As Conor discussed in last week’s podcast, it seems Marvel is going in this “fun” direction. That may be appealing to some, but not to me.

  11. SteenAR SteenAR says:

I know I’m a bit biased. But holy crap this book is good. Between the dynamic between Hal and Sinestro, the start of an epic battle, and the crazy cliffhanger at the end of last issue, I’ve been stressing over this book for 4 weeks now. So excited to read this.

Really enjoying Green Lantern, this will really read well in trades.

  13. Punch Bag says:

Did anyone notice a mysterios figue in green lantern 1, flash1, superman1 with a red/pink arua around their head? Think this might be a new charecter DC are introducing through the first issues of the new 52

    • Flash923 Flash923 says:

Yeah, we noticed about three issues ago, really? You are just seeing this now? Maybe you just jumped on bored now sorry did mean to tease. There has been much speculation as to what he or she is and what this figure was about when the first issues arrived and she has even been spotted in some #2′s as well. I had a theory that if the reboot did not work this was some sort of way they could get back to the regular universe before the begining of all of this and maybe even before Flashpoint?? Now I am thinking this may have something to do with the first big threat to the DCU and this is like the Harbinger from back in the Crisis era or even maybe helps tie this to the Crisis era and puts a close to it and keeps it in this continuity>? Anyway there have been several theories and well jump on board and enjoy the ride……….
Has anyone seen this figure lately?? I have not and I read just about all 52 issues up until this month when I start trimming the fat.

Ha ha. but like Flash923 said i don’t mean to tease

like a cock in the hen house

  14. mgriffith mgriffith says:

Another solid issue. One of the best of the DCnU.

  15. rift1128 rift1128 says:

Love this book… one of the best of the new 52. Some of the art was a little rushed so it was only 4 stars but the story was great.

  16. stasisbal stasisbal says:

I don’t get it. Sinestro can vomit up Green Lantern rings? Did he learn that in the Anti-Matter universe? This issue faltered quite a bit and Green Lantern may find itself dropped next month.

  17. sitara119 sitara119 says:

the art seemed better to me this issue. im still hooked. great read

  18. jonny jonny says:

Loved this book! I hope they keep Sinestro a GL for at least a few more arcs because he is completely stealing the show from Hal.

  19. I love seeing Doug Mahnke run wild with the art on this (and the previous) series.

  20. FACE FACE says:

Snoozer issue. Just a little too predictable. Not a bad ish, not a great one either.
Just one man’s opinion. That man being me.

  21. WheelHands WheelHands says:

Not too much happening in this one. But still, it flowed nicely and set up some interesting tidbits. Johns’ love for Sinestro is a real treat for me. Every time you think you have him figured out, Johns does something to add yet another layer to this already beautifully complex “villain”.

And damn is Mahnke getting better with every issue. I’ve liked his work since he first showed up in Batman years ago. But this recent stuff is above and beyond what I’ve come to expect from him. Nice work.

Looking forward to the next one.

  22. dkbrain dkbrain says:

I enjoyed this issue. I felt the response of the citizens of Korugar made sense. The focus on Sinestro continues to make for a great read. The art continues to be awesome.

  23. Franktiger Franktiger says:

Have a problem still with Hal accepting a ring from Sinestro, he was booted from the Corp by the Guadians unjustifiably, but this series started out as if Hal was lost without the ring, and now he’ll go so low as to accept a ring from his arch-nemesis, like he’s a ring-junkie or something. Woulda been more interesting to me if Hal showed that he never really needed that ring.

    • jonny jonny says:

Hal has the guts without a doubt… but don’t confuse his guts with power because he could not take on Sinestro without a ring. Besides, he still tried to take out Sinestro after he got the ring.

  24. Norang_e Norang_e (@Norang_e) says:

really loved the dramatic scene of Hal making hologram of Carroll.
