  1. Going to be weird and surreal reading this one on Wednesday with it not being written by Geoff Johns.

    • Yes it is. But I am more excited about a new writer coming on then I thought I would be. I will miss Pete Tomasi on GLC though, that’s hands down my favorite GL book. And his Batman & Robin is the best bat book. Staying with GL,GLC & trying the Lafreeze book.

    • Batman & Robin is pretty great.

I am also looking forward to Robert Venditti coming on board (I dig what he is doing over on X-O Manowar), but I am worried that the DC Brass will hinder him from creating something new and want him to keep things “Johns Like”. Know what I’m saying?

  2. Looking forward to this. Was bummed about Johns leaving the book but when I heard Venditti was taking over I became optimistic,I love XO Manowar and have high hopes for him on this.

  3. Just read the preview on another site and was blown away. I want to read this! I’ll miss Johns but I’m looking forward to the new creative team, way more than I was before reading the preview.

  4. Is this the issues where they start giving away the free rings in some shops?

Well I wasn’t going to bother getting this I thought that the last Geoff Johns book would be a good jumping off point. But then I read the preview.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Ehhh… Didn’t love it. Maybe its all psychological but I just don’t like this as much as Johns stuff. I’ll stay on for 1-2 months more, but I’m not optimistic.

  7. It’s gotta be tough for anyone to follow Johns but after reading this I feel like we’re in good hands. I really really enjoyed this issue, I’m definitely staying on board. EDITORIAL, DONT SCREW THIS UP!!

  8. enjoyed the comic but definitely not as amazing as the previews lead me to believe. Really sad to see the new guardians leaving, kinda hoped they would stick around and be, you know, good guardians. The weakest part of the book was definitely the Carroll/Hal relationship. Very trite and pretty boring. I really like the fact that the new recruits are aliens, as I am so tired of reading about the bazillion human lanterns.

  9. I thought this was really damn good! I’m looking forward to where it goes next. I am more apprehensive about the other GL books, especially GL NG, but this was a good start to the new teams.

  10. This was rough. There were some positives. I enjoyed the complicated relationship of Hal and Star Sapphire. I loved seeing Kilowog. But will it be enough to keep this on my pull list? Not looking good, I’m afraid.

  11. I’ve never read much Green Lantern, but am curious about this for Venditti. Maybe I can sub it in for Demon Knights after that title (sniff) ends . . .

  12. So glad I picked this up, great first issue (for Venditti and myself).
