  1. Did not like the first issue of Fantastic Four, but this gets a look for the Allred art

  2. Looking forward to this big time! I need my Future Foundation fix!

  3. Soooo, the crazy-ass writer who tripped us out with Defenders, plus the crazy-ass artist behind Madman and the X-Statix, on a book about the most crazy-assed idea in comics?

    Yes, please.

  4. Real deal Ant-Man?! So, is this Ant-Man I, II or III?!!

  5. I’m really looking forward to this, I enjoyed F4 #1, and this one has art by the Allreds, so count me in.

  6. Just curious…did anyone read just Hickman’s FF and not his F4 run?

I’m willing to check this out even though I was mixed on Fraction’s F4 #1.

  7. This is the one Marvel book I might buy. But it’s gonna really have to wow me in the store or I’m gonna pass. I just hate Marvel too much these days.

  8. High hopes.

  9. ALLRED!

  10. I find Fraction’s team books questionable, but Allred is drawing and She-Hulk is staring, so I am all over this.

  11. *starring

  12. Matt Fraction’s X-Men almost killed me but with these characters and the Allreds it gets a 2-3 issue audition. Not touching Fantastic Four with a 20 foot pole however.

  13. Man, its nice to see so much praise for Allred. If you look at other comics sites, the talk on this issue is just about how ugly Allred’s art is. Glad people here recognize genius when they see it.

    • So true. It gets really stale when your constantly looking at the standard superhero art with big and shiny muscles, boobs, heads and armour like a Jim Lee or a Tony Daniel (not bad artists at all by the way).

Allred brings something completely different to the fold and I think most people here are more excited about what he is going to bring to these pages rather than Fraction.

    • The reasons I am buying this title 1: Kids of Future Foundation, 2: Allred, 3: She-Hulk.

I’m very excited to see Allred’s versions of these kids and aliens and creatures that make up the Foundation.

    • His Wolverine on the cover of that Wolverine & The X-Men cover was awesome a month or so ago.

    • I got swept up in comics in the 90s for 2 reasons: Preacher and Dark Horse’s Legend line which included Sin City, Concrete, Hellboy/BPRD and Madman. I loved all of them but the art, color, and overall tone of Madman really stood out. I’m really looking forward to seeing Allred take on these characters.

  14. almost done waiting for this.. also the ant-man bit in the point one preview was excellent

  15. Ant man is the reason i am buying this book, i enjoy scott lang but haven’t read that much of him (being dead an all) i loved what Geoff Johns did with him in his avengers run and the promise of Doom vs Ant Man here should be great, the other characters are just gravy

  16. I enjoyed F4 enough to decide to pick this up. Today I reread F4 in anticipation of FF, and WOW, that book was actually really good. The art’s true excellence didn’t hit me until the 2nd time through, and I the cleverness of the dialogue hit home. All of a sudden I was JUICED for this book. Can’t wait!

  17. Enjoyed this much more than F4. I’m 100% onboard.

  18. If you had told me 2 months ago that I would be reading anything by Fraction I would have laughed in your face. But I’ve been enjoying Hawkeye and F4 was pretty good but this was really fun. I loved the art, Allred’s unique art is a prefect fit for this book.

  19. Allred drawing the Thing is fantastic, along with the entire issue, but the Thing just blew me away.

  20. There were better comics this week, but Scott Lang is my hero of the week. I almost teared up at that last scene.

  21. Not to offend any FF fans, but I’ve never read a Fantastic Four story that I have thought was wonderful until I read this issue.

I don’t know shit about Scott Lang but was immediately vested in his well-being.

This issue was a perfect first issue 5/5

  22. I really liked this book. It mad me sad that Marvel is so greedy with their 3.99 prices, because I’m sure there are other books they publish that I would enjoy reading – I just don’t think it’s right they charge a buck more than DC does on half their titles, just because.

But this book, the writing, the art, the characters – I really enjoyed it.

    • They don’t charge a dollar more “just because” and they aren’t “greedy.” They are a business. The purpose of a business is to make a profit. America is a free market economy. Consumers set the prices by spending money. If people weren’t willing o spend 3.99 on a comic, Marvel couldn’t charge th much. Clearly, people will spend that much or a comic. If thy didn’t, Marvel couldn’t charge that much.

    • Okay, then I will blame all the suckers who are dumb enough to spend $3.99 on a Marvel book.

  23. I was skeptical of Scott Lang and I was skeptical of the art but I bought the comic anyways… And I have to tell ya, I was blown away. This is my new favorite Marvel Title!

  24. Matt Fraction, in one issue, made Scott Lang one of my favorite characters. I was blown away by this issue. I am now wildly excited for this series!
