  1. A new arc.
Posen and Duggan still writing it.
Declan Shalvey AND Jordie Bellaire as artists?

How can this not be anyone’s strong contender for POTW?

  2. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked forward to a single Deadpool issue like this!

  3. Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

I hope the laboratories of Weapon X look like they did in the Barry Windsor Smith comics. Judging from all the green monitors and the red spectacles at the end of last issue, I think they’re going to nail it! Maybe this will have one of those clunky VR helmets like Logan wore.

  4. I dig this man! Shalvey killed it with the art.

  5. Good lord, this was absolutely amazing. The moment I saw that two page spread of Wade Wilson being released into the ‘rejected’ pile made me realize this was gonna be special. By far this was the best issue Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire have ever done (whether in general or together). An absolutely gorgeous book and there are just way too many highlights to mention. But I also love how toned down the humor was for this first issue. There’s some funny quips and images but for the most part it’s a straight-forward plot. Very impressive to show that Duggan and Posehn can tone this down without much issue and still make it entertaining.

For my money, this was a great first issue to an arc and I think it has a chance to be ‘Best Single Issue’ of the year. Or at least a very strong contender.

    5/5 (POTW)

  6. Ive dug what Posehn and Duggan have been doing with this guy. But this just proved yet again that they really know how to make this character great. The story was amazing, and even without the crazy humor running at 11 that I’ve learned to love from the two in the past 14 issues this book still felt like a Deadpool book! The amazing art complimented the amazing story, those two page spreads were just stunning. By far my POTW, easily pick of the month and if nothing else comes out strong like this book in the next few months, pick of the year.
