Lobo Highway To Hell #1 (OF 2)

Lobo Highway To Hell #1 (OF 2)

A Lobo story like nothing you've seen before! You can imagine that when you live life the way the Main Man lives life - loud, loose, and ludicrously violent - you might pick up an enemy or two along the way. An enemy like, say, oh I don't know, Satan himself. And Satan, my friends, does not play around. Hell's iron-fisted ruler has a serious mad-on for the last Czarnian, and he's gonna hit Lobo right in his blackened, scabrous heart. So Lobo's just gonna have to hit him harder. Repeatedly. In the FACE. But first, Lobo has to go to Hell...a little sooner than anticipated!

Metal icon Scott Ian of Anthrax makes his comics debut, joining forces with visionary creator Sam Kieth to bring you a Lobo story that's so over the top, you won't even remember what the top used to look like! Bleeding dolphins, demonic Chihuahuas, the world's worst cruise ship, exploding moons, severed heads, and still more sick fraggin' stuff all await you on the Highway to Hell - don't miss a single twisted page!

I have high hopes for this book.

This sounds like a fun mini.

Price is a bit much for me, and usually that is not a problem.

Sam Kieth is my favorite artist of all time. His Wolverine and Maxx got me into comics. Can't wait.

This sounds like fun.

$6.99 for 64 pages ... price is steep but you get allot of content. Hopefully it won't be 64 pages of 2-page spreads.

Does anyone know if I'll need to know anything about Lobo to read this?

Posted by deadspace on 11/02/09 at 10:04 PM

@deadspace I wouldn't think so.

Intrigued, but dissuaded by the price.

Posted by Ruo21 on 11/03/09 at 03:22 PM

@Ruo21 It's lika a regular sized comic for $3.50. It's not a bargain, but it's not THAT unusuall as well.

Posted by Bendrix on 11/04/09 at 05:24 AM

I was intrested in this when it was first announced but there is no way i can justify buying it with that price tag. If it comes out in trade though i will definitly get it.

Posted by Patman2 on 11/04/09 at 09:43 AM

I'm wondering why they didn't just go straight to trade with this?

I'd could see myself shelling out $15 for a new 128 page trade with Sam Keith art  to my Lobo-loving friends especially with the holidays coming up.

Posted by Smasher on 11/04/09 at 11:03 AM

@Bendrix- Yep, doesn't change the fact though. I'm poor!!!

Posted by Ruo21 on 11/04/09 at 08:32 PM

@Ruo21 And wiht 4 issues for $3.50 you had 2 more great Kieth covers. I think a $5.99 price tag wouldn't have hurt and probaly had turned off way less readers.

If you're a fan of Sam Kieth, google image search Ralph Steadman's art. Many of you may be familiar with him, but for those of you who aren't, he has a similar atttitude and line to Kieth's, and he did a lot of work for Hunter S. Thompson. It's great stuff.

@WJWitherspoon - I'd pay 15 bucks for 64 pages of 2 page spreads by Sam Kieth.

Posted by ActualButt on 11/05/09 at 04:03 PM

The Main Man is back to kick ass once again I'm getting me a copy.

Posted by evil09 on 11/05/09 at 09:52 PM

@actualbutt I'm a huge HST fan.  Steadman's one of my favorite artists.

I wanted this to by my pick of the week so bad because of Keith but his art seems to have got worse rather than better over the years. While there were still a few great pages and awesome close-ups of Lobo it just seems that he is doing more rough, sketchy, non-detailed pages than ever. It looked rushed. The story was pretty solid however, I especially liked the last page. Still looking forward to issue 2.

This was my pick.  I loved it from beginning to end.

Highly enjoyable.  I want to see more Sam Keith.
