Arkham Reborn #1 (OF 3)

Following the Black Mask's destruction of Arkham Asylum in BATTLE FOR THE COWL, Dr. Jeremiah Arkham has rebuilt the Asylum following the design of his mad Uncle Amadeus. Intended as a model for enlightened treatment of mental illness, the building soon mutates into a torture house, and the inmates find themselves trapped in a living hell. And when Jeremiah starts hearing a voice from beyond the grave, it becomes painfully clear that the lunatics really have taken over the Asylum! Beginning a 3-issue miniseries from the BATTLE FOR THE COWL: ARKHAM ASYLUM creative team of writer David Hine and artist Jeremy Haun!

Haven't decided if I really want to get this yet. On one hand, I liked the one-shot during BFTC. On the other hand, I never much cared for Hine's writing. Hmmm... anyone want to help me out?

@Prax: It's three issues, I say give it a shot. I'm a bit iffy on Hine's writing myself, but I've also heard good things about the one shot from earlier.

Great cover.

I'm a sucker for anything Arkham or Joker related. Did David Hine write the Arkham one-shot that was out a few weeks ago? It was really good!

And yeah, great cover.

You had me at " from the BATTLE FOR THE COWL: ARKHAM ASYLUM creative team".

@deadspace Yes, Hine wrote the one-shot.

@PraxJarvin - Sweet, I'm really looking forward to this then.

The one-shot has me sold.

NOT super excited about this but I'm still gonna get it.

Yeah, Hine has never really impressed me much, so I'll be skipping this one.

Really enkiyed the one shot, it was one of the better BFTC tie ins, so I'm definitely in on this one.

That should have been ENJOYED...curse these early mornings.

Not being a fan of dolls, that last page creeped me the fuck out.  Not as good as the one shot, but still a 5 out of 5.

My wife loved this issue, no prior knowledge required *confirmed*!

Really enjoyed this!

A good issue, but that's about it. I wasn't wowed by it. I think the one-shot was better. Though Aaron Cash for the win! 3/5

Prax you're crazy :p 5/5 for me.

Posted by deadspace on 10/29/09 at 05:13 PM

One shot was way better.

Great start of a story. & just like a constipated man -- I can't wait for #2.

Not as strong as the one shot, but I'm glad he has more issues this time around. Love the nods to Arkham Living Hell.
