Bprd 1947 #1 (OF 5)
In 1946, the Nazi Occult Bureau's Project Vampir Sturm threatened to destroy the fragile peace following the end of the Second World War. A year later, the B.P.R.D. learns that there are creatures far older -- and far more dangerous -- than the Nazis' creations, as a lone vampire nobleman ruthlessly hunts the survivors of the Third Reich.
Joshua Dysart (B.P.R.D.: 1946) and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola team up with Gabriel Bá (The Umbrella Academy) and Fábio Moon (Sugarshock) for a new chapter in the hidden history of the B.P.R.D.!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/06/09 at 06:37 PMHow can you not be excited for new BPRD.
Posted by Churchill on 07/06/09 at 09:11 PMFábio Moon AND Gabriel Bá AND Hellboy? All in one? How can you not buy this!?
Posted by Onic on 07/06/09 at 11:10 PMI love everything Hellboy-related, but I buy very little of it. I think I was waiting for that wond'rous point in my life when I'll lounge all day on mountains of cash and buy everything Mignola has done in one fell-swoop. Finally breaking down and getting the new BPRD I think is me coming to grips that the money-pile dream may still be a while coming...
Posted by OttoBott on 07/06/09 at 11:51 PMHaven't picked up BPRD in a while. Figured this one would be good.
Posted by vadamowens on 07/07/09 at 01:31 AMAnd don't forget, not only it's more BPRD, which is always good, and drawn by Moon and Bá, both who are stunning on everything they did so far, it got Joshua Dysart, who not only wrote the amazing BPRD:1946, but KILLS it on Unknown Soldier for Vertigo every month. This should be really good.

Classic.
Posted by rockingeek on 07/08/09 at 04:56 PMThis is the first BPRD book I've ever read, and, although I feel like I would've gotten more out of it if I'd read the prequel, I thought this was really, really good. A fantastic 4/5 stars.
Posted by kwisdumb on 07/08/09 at 10:03 PMCool read. I've always liked the post-WWII era stories in Hellboy and BPRD. Really had a lot of fun with this book.
Posted by vadamowens on 07/08/09 at 11:10 PMDidn't realize the twins were on this, luckily I read the credits at the shop.
Posted by skeets on 07/09/09 at 03:19 AMThis is my first soujeune (spelling?) into the world of Hell Boy and I am suitably impressed. Looking forward to a neat little series.
Posted by har13quin on 07/10/09 at 09:57 AMFor everybody who enjoyed this as their first exposure to BPRD, check out BPRD 1946 (now in trade). The regular BPRD series is set in modern times. You'll probably like that too.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/11/09 at 12:13 AM*coughs* If you're on Amazon, you should also write a review (for the BPRD 1946 TPB). It's got an average (average from one review) score of 2 stars, mainly because the reviewer disliked Azaceta's brilliant turn on on it. A cryin' shame if you ask me. */coughs*

I was on the fence and disinclined until I saw Moon and Ba's name on it. Those guys are too good.
