I was a bit underwhelmed by the last one. I loved the original and love the concept of a quarterly mega anthology, but the quality needs to be there. A couple of the stories had potential that started weak, so we’ll see.

  2. @JimBilly4  I’m with you, though I think I still enjoyed this book more than the Vertigo Adventure Tales that released recently (another similarly-sized and priced anthology).

I only liked a little more than half of th first issue. I’d almost rather just go back-issue diving for some older DHP issues than get this. But I’ll thumb through it and see. I really, really liked Chadwick, McNeil, and corben’s pieces, but the I think I should go read their older stuff in more comprehensive volumes or runs? I just can’t decide to plan on getting this or not.

this blew.very hard to get through. sometimes u cant go home

  5. Slockhart Slockhart says:

Outside of an amazing Concrete story and a great one page joke comic in the back, the first issue was entirely forgettable. This is the make-or-break issue.

Not to mention it’s hard enough to remember a 20-22 page story after a month, let alone an 8 page story after 2 months.

I did not love Neal Adams, and that makes me sad. :(

  7. from the comments above, i’m glad i passed on this.

  8. malloc malloc says:

all those coments were from before it came out.  Any one actually read this?  I got the first issue and am putting off buying this unless its beter.

  9. john72tex says:

It was definitely not worth $7.99!

  10. Simmons Simmons says:

I enjoyed the Vertigo thing more, I will not be picking this

  11. I actually liked this one better than the first, but anthologies are always a mixed bag. I’ll pick up anything with new Concrete in it regardless.

  12. Slockhart Slockhart says:

This was so bad that I’m going to take it personally.
