  1. I really wanted to love this but the art of Romita Jr just doesn’t work for me, his little kids look like dwarfs, plus I really don’t need anymore cap with all the other titles I read that he co-stars in.

    • Same, really want to like this book but can’t star Romita’s art. I used to like his art on ASM but ever since AvX it’s made me hate his work. All of the characters look like lego people and they all are similar. Will still give issue 2 a chance to hook me still otherwise i’m off.

  2. I love the “R Squared” team on this title (get it, Remender and Romita? R Squared. Get it? Huh? Huh?)

Sorry. Yeah, this is another Marvel title that has it’s hooks in me.

  3. Long haired, rugged Steve looks awesome. Though, wouldn’t he have a beard too?

  4. Going to be dropping this after this issue. Love Remender, hate Romita, and so-so on Cap. I have too many books anyway. Besides, I’ll get my Cap fill in Avengers, so I think I’m set.

  5. Subscribed.

    Hoping I don’t hate it.

  6. John Romita Jr. deserves a lot more respect than he’s given. He can publish a fine, quality book monthly (which is hard to say for other artists) and he illustrates some bad-ass fight scenes. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but give the man some credit. I, for one, am looking forwards to this run.

  7. My issue with #1 was the writing style and non-sensical story. I didn’t buy into it. I decided to give it one more to see if it grows on me and maybe it will deliver on the “pulp style” its been toted as. The art team was great so I hope it pans out.

  8. Thought the first issue was great, looking forward to the story continuing on!

  9. Is that Hit-Girl on the cover? 😉

  10. First Cap solo book I’ve read and I’m really enjoying it. Great story and good to see another side to Cap and his backstory as a kid.

  11. I really enjoyed this issue, the art really fits the sci-fi feel that Remender is laying down. The story flowed better than the first issue. Reading this book brought a smile to my face, possible potw.

  12. I thought this was fantastic. Love the art , Cap looks great with the long hair and beard. This is the first time I’ve ever started a run of Captain America and I’m really glad I did!

  13. Love Remender, love Cap, do not love Remender writing Cap. It’s good for what it is but it isn’t the story I want to read right now.

  14. Remender is on top form here, moving things forward like he does here is a ballsy move that totally pays off. I’m an old skool fan and have a huge amount of time for JRJR’s work, especially here in this Kirby inspired dimension, add Janson and the impossibly talented Dean White on top and this book is all win for me, never been a follower of Cap before (I’m a Brit so…) But this book is pulling me in.
also… Anyone else think this had taken some inspiration from that Prophet TPB that came out the other month?

  15. Prophet >>>> Profits…???

  16. I am not a big Cap fan. I find him a bit too infallible and, thus, un-relatable. I kind of like him in team books but he isn’t my first choice. I picked #1 and #2 of this new series on a whim. I cannot describe how surprised and happy I am. This comic is just wildly… Indescribably fun! I love the writing, the flashbacks, the one year leap, the cookiness of Dimension Z and the art. Oh the art. I thought I would not be a fan. It’s weird and it’s different but, wow, does it work for this comic.

I am putting this on my pull list. 5 stars!
