Looks like Axel from Streets of Rage
I believe this is supposed to be a sort of tribute to the 16-Bit sidescroller beat ’em ups.
Sounds like half a dozen other movie plots smashed together. Might flip thru it.
It was more like a bunch of 80s games smashed together. Streets of rage,Double dragon you name it.
I read the first couple pages and was a bit perplexed. Then I got to the panel with ‘FIGHT!” and it really clicked. It’s straight up old skool video game fun, Keeping that in mind, its really pretty awesome. Having Bear parrot a line from the little brother in “A Christmas Story” when he’s trying to catch up to Rock and Lex sealed the deal for me. It isn’t what I expected, but I had a damn good time reading it.
Thought this was just okay. Gonna wait till the whole mini-series is out to judge what they’re trying to do here.
