As Texas goes to Hell, a group of homeless outcasts–led by a young woman who appears to have second sight–evade volcanic eruptions, mass hysteria, and man–eating monsters. When the B.P.R.D. take notice of this, the results turn out to be deadly.

Written by Mike Mignola and John Arcudi, and drawn by Eisner award winning artist Guy Davis, B.P.R.D.: Hell on EarthGods is the first arc of the pivotal Gods and Monsters saga.
A B.P.R.D. arc unlike any other, jumping around in time, and introducing important new characters!

  1. So I have never read BPRD – could I jump on and know what the hell is going on with this?

  2. I think so. There is a summary of each character on the inside cover. If you like this issue, go back 5 issues to the most recent mini-series, that is beginning of the Hell on Earth arc.

  3. This is a nice cover.

  4. This was creepy as hell. This book is just a clinic in story telling. Pure brilliance

  5. I feel like I was supposed to read something prior to this. Am I wrong?

  6. To bigben2012: Yes, you need to know what’s happening in Texas from the previous series. I keep trying to drop B.P.R.D. because I’m tired of the supernatural, conspiracy theories, and psychic powers but the writers do such a good job with these stories that I just can’t resist reading another one. Bravo! What a great comic.

  7. @FreezerBurn  So what is it called?

  8. @bigben2012  You could probably just pick up the previous miniseries at your LCS. But honestly all you really need to know is that there was a huge volcano in Texas. And that all over the world crazy monsters are emerging. The previous mini touched more on different characters than this issue, and they don’t really get into Texas much. This issue kind of dived right into a new world of characters that would be new to even long term readers.

  9. @JaqueNargg  Thanks after reading again I enjoyed it. I look forward to the second issue.

  10. Really enjoyed this issue. I writing and page lay-out of this, and nearly all the B.P.R.D work is second to none. And I equally enjoyed Guy Davis’s sketch-y art. It sort of reminds me of Jeff Lemeir’s work — defining lines, blocky chins, . . .. And that is a good thing.
