I’m digging all the ‘bird’ references with Hawk n Dove and Penguin.

  2. JesTr JesTr says:

I wsn’t thoroughly impressed by the first issue but it was the first so I’ll still check this out.

  3. PraxJarvin PraxJarvin says:

The first issue wasn’t the bestest thing ever, but it was fun. I’m in it for a while, we’ll see how this goes. Mariah Benes? I wonder if that’s Ed’s wife doing colors.

  4. Fvckstick Fvckstick says:

i couldnt even finish the first issue. Dropped.

  5. NawidA NawidA says:

    Light week so maybe.

  6. zattaric zattaric says:

It seems like it’s been a long time sine #1.  Was there a delay on this or do I just read too many comics now?

  7. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

    @zattaric: No delay.

  8. torippu torippu says:

Is that description correct – Benes already needs help finishing the issue? (I see that there is a fill-in for #5 in the DC solicits released today)

  9. CAM CAM says:

@PraxJarvin I believe it’s his sister, there’s a Benes brother out there too who’s also an artist.

I’m looking forward to this, I thought the art last issue was some of Ed’s better work.

  10. PraxJarvin PraxJarvin says:

@Torippi It just says "Art By" that could mean Benes on pencils, Melo on inks and Mariah on colors. It could also mean a fill-in. My money is on the first one.

@CAM Ahh, cool. Didn’t know that. Thanks.

  11. Oh hells yeah! The first issue of this new series hit all the right notes for me, as it had a great "We’re getting the band back together" vibe. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, I’m totally ready for some more awesome Simone & Benes goodness.

  12. First issue was pretty damn good. Can’t wait to read it.

  13. JimBilly4 JimBilly4 says:

I had no previous experience with the BoP, which may be the reason the first issue left me cold. I love Simone on Secret Six so I will give it another shot.

  14. ctrosejr ctrosejr says:

I agree that the last issue was middle of the road.  However, there were some great moments — most of them involving Lady Blackhawk.  Asking if Hank is ‘fancy’ — Brilliant!!

  15. darrel darrel says:

Gail simone really gets it in how to write a first issue that can interest people to read the rest of the story. This should be pick of the week hands down

  16. darrel darrel says:

Issue 1 was nowhere near middle of the road

  17. Itiscritical Itiscritical says:

This issue definitely has two different artists, and the inking isn’t quite as clear as it was in the first issue.  Still, the story is great, especially if you’re familiar with Simone’s ealier BOP run!

  18. PraxJarvin PraxJarvin says:

Another solid reason. Not quite as enjoyable as the first issue, and the premise isn’t exactly new… but I’m hooked. I actually really liked Hawk this issue, too. 4/5

  19. NawidA NawidA says:

Did anyone on the West Coast get it? My shop didn’t.

  20. ErronSF ErronSF says:

My shop didn’t have it either, in SF.

  21. Paradiddle Paradiddle says:

@NawidA and ErronSF – I was going to ask the same exact thing. Comic Relief in Berkeley didn’t have it, either. Looks like one of those West Coast Diamond delays. What the hell is up with that? Can someone more knowledgable than I about comics distribution explain why this happens at least once or twice a year?

  22. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

@Paradidle: Different warehouses serve different parts of the country. If there’s a problem at one then only the area that that warehouse covers would be effected.

  23. MikeFarley says:

Yeah, we didn’t it in Vegas either. My LCS guy says next week.

  24. zattaric zattaric says:

So, am I the only one who thinks he know who this "Jade Canary" is?  I’m can’t wait to see if I’m right!

  25. BornIn1142 BornIn1142 says:

    @ zattaric

You mean White Canary. Jade Canary was a name Lady Shiva used One Year Later. Though I admit, I still thought it was Shiva at first. -_-

But now I have other suspicions about White Canary’s identity as well…

  26. Dez Dez says:

We didn’t get it here in Rancho Cucamonga, CA either. :(

  27. JimBilly4 JimBilly4 says:

Still a little lost (no previous BoP experience) but I like the descent into chaos in this one. Not a fan of Benes though.
