  1. Oh man.  Loving this series

  2. Early runner for POW. This series has been a lotta fun.

  3. I’ve loved this, but I hope it has more of the present day Gates brothers in it. Love the suits.

  4. Apparently the writer who just appeared out of no where last issue is doing the rest of the series.

    Who is this mysterious man?

  5. This has been so good.

  6. This hasn’t been nearly as much fun as I anticipated.  I would of dropped it if I had not ordered it prior.  Not jumping on Nightwing in September.

  7. @TheNextChampion  You haven’t been paying attention.  Snyder and Higgins have been sharing writing duties from the beginning.  Snyder plotted and Higgins scripted.

  8. @ctrosejr  I imagine he means Ryan Parrott, the third guy who was credited in the last issue.

As a ‘writter’, in an amusingly placed typo.

  9. my understanding is Snyder and Higgins plotted it out together. Higgins was writing dialogue, and now with Higgins writing more stuff for the reboot he brought in a buddy of his and they are writing it together.

that was my understanding of it. Higgins still very much a part, and Snyder’s plotting still at the core.

  10. Wicked story, nice art, im ridding this one out!!!

  11. Scott and I broke most of the story and I wrote 1 and 2. With the compressed schedule of the double ship for 4 and 5 this month, plus Nightwing and Deathstroke, Ryan came on with me for 3-5.

  12. I thought it was going to be an 8 part series?

  13. I’m a little torn by this. One the one hand it’s well written and pretty great. On the other hand, it’s got a steam punk thingy going on which is a painful and stupid fanboy meme. I just don’t know

  14. This has been my favorite bat book in years, from the history and architecture elements to the mystery. Art and writing both have been pitch perfect for my tastes. So excited for the Nightwing series!

  15. Missed McCarthy’s art this issue.

  16. Well this made me laugh. I thought McCarthy was looking more like Dustin Nguyen but then saw at the end it was Nguyen the whole time. So that made me laugh….But the art was definitely rushed and this other guy, Donovan, his flashback sequences weren’t as good as McCarthy’s. Also, it feels like Snyder’s touch on this book is gone cause it didn’t read like the previous issues. This Parrott guy seemed to have taken over for the book.

    3/5

  17. I really like the design of the villain’s armor.

  18. Three writers and two fill in artists along with someone doing the layouts for them? Yeah, this felt about that messy.

  19. @KyleHiggins  thanks for clearing that up, i think u guyz are doing great and hope u find room in the new DCU for this great villian.  great costume design!

  20. How did Nicholas Gate become such a great hand-to-hand combatant, able to defeat the likes of Damian, who is League of Assassins trained, and Red Robin, who was probably taught everything a Bruce Wayne Batman knew, in a 2 on 1 melee?
Funny how everyone misses McCarthy’s art after they complained about it so much.  Careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
  21. @Franktiger To be fair, I never said I missed him. It would’ve been nice to keep him on for consistancy sakes though. Also, it makes me question why Nguyen couldn’t do the mini the entire time. (Considering he’s been doing nothing but covers lately)

  22. @Franktiger  were you screaming what you typed in your comment, the big, bold letters give me the impression that you are very angry on these issues.  dont get me wrong, you raise some interesting points in the first portion of your thought bubble, but how do you know that its nicholas gate in the suit, wouldnt he be like over a hundred years old?  wouldnt it be a relative?

  23. I have really been enjoying this series, but issue 4 was a massive disappointment to me… rushed and sloppy both in art and writing, not in line with the same high quality as the previous 3. Hopefully the conclusion will be a return to form.
