There are three books out this week that are have been my pick of the week (GL, Flash, Secret Avengers), but I am rooting for this. I hope it live up to what I want. I love this idea, and thought the cartoon was great.

Has anyone seen the J.H Williams III’s cover?

  2. trobinson79 trobinson79 says:

I absolutely loved Superman/Batman Annual #4 and if this ends up being anything close to that, I will gladly welcome the series into my stacks of books already about to take over my place.

  3. So…..Batman #700. At the end…..was old man Wayne Bruce or Damian??????? Because from what Morrison made it seem was that it was Damian!! So confused!!!!!!!!!

I am sooo on the fence about buying this.  I had a mild interest in the show, but somehow this feels like it might be better / different than the show.  Tell me why I should or should not, buy this.  Thanks!

  6. mikeandzod21 mikeandzod21 says:

I’ve been waiting for this book since 98!

  7. Zeppo Zeppo says:

    @misterckent

Thanks for the link, but now I want the JH cover. It looks great. I bet it will be expensive.

  8. WheelHands WheelHands says:

@JAMESDEAN2020: Morrison definitely implied it was Damian, but the series has never given us any reason to doubt the fact that Bruce was Old Man Wayne. So you’re not alone in your confusion, but I don’t have an answer for you. Morrison tends to write his own DCU, so perhaps it was his way of tying Beyond into current continuity. Or maybe it’ll be explained in this mini. Who knows?

  9. DavidCW DavidCW says:

Hmm. I was hoping this would be a Batman Beyond existing in current continuity with Damian guiding Terry. If it is following cartoon continuity then I hope it takes place post-Epilogue.

Check out the preview on CBR. Looks pretty fucking sweet. http://bit.ly/9TzzFK

  11. DamonS23 DamonS23 says:

@DavidCW Damian would have killed Terry for breaking into the Batcave and there never would have been a Batman Beyond.

  12. Reform Reform says:

ADAM BEECHEN wrote a pretty bad BatGirl mini so I think I will hold off on this till I hear something good.

  13. peterporker peterporker says:

anything with oldman wayne has to be good

  14. Im not sure… I might wait for the trade.

  15. Conor Kilpatrick conor (@cskilpatrick) says:

@Reform: I loved that Batgirl mini.

Beechen has a fantastic feel for the Batcharacters. He’s the only reason I’m picking this up

  16. OnASunday OnASunday says:

I wish the artist from the Superman/Batman annual was doing this but I’ll give this guy a chance. When I saw the JH3 cover and was like ‘wow that guy is summoning JH3 with this cover’ then found out it was him lol. BB has a good mythology that I hope will catch on and grow in the comics.

  17. im a huge batman beyond fan but I think im going to wait for the hardcover so I am not tempted to double dip…….try to put it out in the next three years DC please!

  18. DavidCW DavidCW says:

@DamonS23 Haha quite possible. If you look at the book though we see Damian standing over Batmans dead body (Dick?) followed by him as Bats, then Terry as Bats. Could be that Bruce is still alive or MIA while Damian is working as Bats I suppose, then comes back to train Terry. I get the impression though that Damian isnt an evil Batman, just not as moral when it comes to killing. I doubt he would outright kill someone without a good reason.

  19. Apotheosize Apotheosize says:

This is going to be fantastic!  Adam Beechen is perfect for this series!  And it is Bruce Wayne guiding him not Damien

  20. DamonS23 DamonS23 says:

@DavidCW Breaking into the Batcave would be a good reason for Damian.  At least how he acts right now.

  21. Mangaman Mangaman says:

I’M SO PUMPED! This is either gonna rock or I’m gonna have to re-evaluate my entire childhood.

  22. I really hope this is good. I’d love for this to become an ongoing (Though it being a part of the mainstream continuity could get a bit confusing at times)

  23. Apotheosize Apotheosize says:

    Pick of the Week!!!!

  24. stuclach stuclach says:

This wasn’t stellar, but it was good.  Nostalgia earns it a 4.

  25. PraxJarvin PraxJarvin says:

I really enjoyed this. It was a surprise, too. Really recaptured the feel of the series and I like the reveal of the baddie. Poses interesting questions. 4/5 This really redeemed Beechen in my eyes, he doesn’t exactly have a good track record.

  26. captbastrd captbastrd says:

The art was fantastic, but Hush? Oh comethefuckon!

  27. doctorsporen doctorsporen says:

This was a great start to what I hope is a great limited. 4/5.

  28. Zeppo Zeppo says:

Loved it, and was pleasently suprised to see a mini-series for $3, I thought all mini’s where $4 dollars now.

This was really entertaining. Where can I get more future JLA?

  29. peterporker peterporker says:

this was fairly decent but the art really didnt do it for me
