  1. This cover is so hauntingly gorgeous.

  2. The Joker scares me.

  3. This will be my last arc of the series. This book started so strong but has hobbled along the last 5-6 issues.

    • feel exactly the same, book seemed to be able to stand on its own but has now been dragged into the “bigger” books crossover shenanigans twice now, seriously effecting the flow and progression of this books identity . The last two issues Seemed like shoe horned filler.

    • I enjoy Damien too much to give up this title. He’s gone from a complete psycho since Batman and Son to a character with moral depth. The characters in the DCU love him or hate him. Readers just love him.

    • I really liked Damian too. The father son story arc was fantastic. They’ve strayed too much away from that though, the books lost its purpose. The bottom-line is my bottom-line and I can’t buy more than 20-25 books a month. This is on the outside looking in. I blame Jason Aaron for writing the crap out of Thor.

    • I love Damian too. Still waiting for his solo Robin title, that would be awesome.

    • While I generally agree that this series has lost a LOT of steam…this issue was pretty damn entertaining!

    • Yeah I wrote this post and then the book this week was really good. Still going to drop it though after next issue.

  4. Just in time to have one of the best covers of the year.

  5. I’m pretty sure this will be a die-cut cover. I’m thinking this image will be the cover of the next issue.

  6. I agree that the past few issues have been less than stellar, but hopefully they can get back on track with the joker crossover and after.

  7. Damian and The Joker have already met… Silly solicit…

  8. The last two issues weren’t great, but this is still one of my favorite books.

  9. Am I a bad person for thinking Damian and Titus are the gritty version of Shaggy and Scooby?

  10. Love, love, loved this comic. So creepy, so eerie, so out there. Great stuff.

    • Wholeheartedly agree … LOVED this! The way the Joker’s face was used, the way it kept shifting, the banter between Damian and the Joker, the silhouette of Titus that looked just like Scooby when they were investigating … AMAZING!!!

  11. Anyone remeber the feeling of reading Batman#5 earlier this year? I got the same feeling reading this. Just wow…….

  12. On the plus side, Gleason is back for the entire issue! To be honest though I wasn’t crazy about the way he drew the Joker. This whole issue just felt like a setup for the next issue. About eight pages were wasted with the Joker jabbering away until we get to the big reveal at the end. I do love the Damian character though and thoroughly believe he would kill the Joker without a moment’s hesitation. And that’s funny because I initially stayed away from this book because I’ve always thought Batman was more interesting without a Robin.

  13. I’m going to say I liked this issue more than Batman. The dialogue and art were so creepy, it was like something out of a really bad nightmare. I loved Gleason’s art when it came to Joker’s face. The back and forth with Damian and Joker were just what I wanted to see.

  14. The Joker was horrifying in this issue. The whole “wearing my face upside-down” was nuts.

  15. This was fantastic, both story and art. As Jhogo said, the upside down face thing was totally f-ed up. Lots of gross stuff, but beautifully rendered by Gleason. I’ve been a fan of Tomasi’s for a number of years, but this issue may be one of his finest. I really loved his dialogue and characterization – Tarantino take note!

The only thing that confused me was the big reveal at the end. What bat-title preceded this story? Last I saw, Batman was walking into Arkham in “Batman” #15. I can only assume this is a ruse and not the real McCoy. And you can bet if it isn’t the real Bat deal, Damian will be able to tell. You can’t rattle that kid.

  16. This issue was awesome. I love the solo Damian issues. Just like issue #9.
