Let’s hope this book can rebound back after that forgettable Annual
This book became “story by Never Heardofim, Art by Never Heardofim” in a hurry.
One of my favorite writer/artists.
To be fair, both are really talent as a comedic writer and the other draws some amazing pages. (Think Seth Fisher but slightly toned down)
The credits are wrong. Correct ones are:
Writer: Cullen Bunn
Artist: Gabriele Dell’Otto
Cover Artist: Gabriele Dell’Otto
This was a really solid title in the beginning.. Joe Mad with the Moloids, Spidey finds Captain America’s inner child, Spidey and Hawkeye team up.. i think the last good issue was the punisher/daredevil team up. I really liked this book but I can’t keep buying it. At least I’ll always have those solid early issues.
You just wrote what I think of every time I see this title.
Ugh, I have to agree here. I think the tipping point for me was the Captain Marvel issues, I couldn’t even finish those things. I flipped through the Deadpool issues and had to put it back on the shelf; same with the Annual and probably will today too
This issue finally recaptures the fun of the early issues in the series.
The art is lovely too. Especially the colouring.
You can’t complain about a comic that stars Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy!
I havent really liked anything Bunn has done thus far but this was surprisingly good. I think it may have more to do with the inclusion of the wonderful Gabriele Dell’Otto to the creative team. Plot/writing was still in a ok/good level but definitely superior to other work by Bunn (I.E. Captain America and…).
